A beautiful building full of old-world university charm. The room was huge, modern and clean with an excellent large bathroom. Staff were very helpful with directions for buses to the city, and even recommended a local pub for dinner. Check-in is in a different building, and the both can be difficult to find. Parking is abundant and wifi is free.... More

Finding Hotel on dark evening difficult, bad signage. No lights on at front of building and door locked with note left to report to Masson Hotel when we did eventually find it, then another 10 minutes to locate Masson Hotel. Our first thoughts on arrival was to find other hotel as we would be the only guests as it looked... More

Beautiful old building with modern rooms! Loved the fire place and big bathroom. Even though it is not in the city center, the walk is very nice, and the bus station is virtually in front of the gate. Room was clean and quiet with coffee/tea facility. Breakfast buffet was very good (plenty of fresh fruit!) and stuff was friendly. Very... More

My wife and I stayed here when we visited Scotland back in June. The rooms were clean, and the food and service was excellent. What really sold my wife and I on Salisbury Green was the management. My wife had left some jewelry in our room and, due to flight times, we were unable to return and get it. We... More

Fabulous location and forces you to stroll down south clerk street on way to more popular tourist area. Plenty of good shops and cafes on route and ideal for a walk up Arthur's Seat which gives a wonderful view of the city. We booked the double room which wasn't huge but adequate for us. The breakfast was superb with freshly... More

Hotel is in a good situation, in the university complex. Good bus service into the city. Bedroom was very small but with a good modern bathroom. Two problems, (a jammed plug in the wash basin and a faulty light) were dealt with fast and efficiently. Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order with plenty of fresh fruit, juices, pastries and joghurts.... More

The Salisbury Green is clean, very quiet, and all in all a pretty nice place. It is about a 30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride from the center of Edinburgh. It is on the edge of the area where the residence halls for the University of Edinburgh are, so the whole thing has a college feel about it.... More

This place looks lovely in the photos on Booking.com but I it was made clear on the web site that this hotel is run by the University of Edinburgh and is located within the Pollock Halls Residence. The building is not in its own grounds as implied by the website text and photographs as you are basically on a campus.... More
