Working in Glenrothes so the location of this hotel was perfect for me, & everything needed was in the one building. The bar downstairs is a typical Weatherspoons layout with the 'usual' clientele who seem to spend their whole waking lives in pubs, this comment isnt aimed at the pub chain at all, it is just a fact. Taking the...

I was in the area on business and just needed somewhere to get my head down. This hotel did just the job. Its dated and maybe could do with a revamp (I understand there is one coming up). the staff were great, food and drink fine and beds comfy. We didn't need anywhere that was upmarket because it was just...

You would be seriously depressed looking at the exterior of the place as it has the aspect of a former eastern block hostel and is in serious need of refurbishment to make it even mildly presentable. It's a shame as the bar and food offer are good as are the staff but for goodness sake Wetherspoons invest in a refit...

A group of 12 blokes golfing in Fife and used The Golden Acorn as our base.
The hotel is in need of a little TLC e.g. decore and fittings a little tired BUT CLEAN.
£38 for twin room includes tea/coffee/bottled water. TV, Telephone. En suite bathroom with shampoo and soap.
As it was a Wetherspoons, there was a pub adjoining...

The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. There was tea, coffee and biscuits. We had no probles with the hotel as such, but we hardly got any sleep due to noise from outside. I am not sure why, but there were lots of young men shouting outside until 4am. If the hotel invested in better double glazing...

stayed as part of a group of 4 who booked in here due to lack of affordable beds in Edinburgh at festival time. For this purpose its great with the bus station 1 minute away and if you dont mind staying/eating in a pub its again fine. Yes it could do with a bit of a clean and if done...

the room we stayed in 305 was in terrible dis repair, wallpaper hanging off the Walls (no exaggeration!) only 1 curtain at the windows, the dirt between the safety windows and actual window was appalling! the mould in the bathroom was thick and very well developed the grout was black around the bath and in the complimentary showgel holder! (polishing...

We're big fans of Wetherspoons, this was our first stay in one of their hotels. Stayed hogmannay for the one night on one of their stay/champagne deals at £89 - we didn't pay this - ended up paing less than £70!
Don't let the dingy outside put you off. GPS found the hotel no problem, got checked in by a...
