Stayed overnight here w/ the missus, arrived in the morning via train, so the hotel's location adjoining the central railway station was ideal. Of course, we were too early for check-in, but the staff were accommodating and friendly. The room itself was only average at best, w/ thin walls and creaky floorboards, the only window offering a dreary view of... More

Usually stay at the Alexander Thomson when in Glasgow but found this on booking .com decided to give it a go. Won't go back though. Pros- Bed and towels were clean. Friendly staff. Nice little lounge with free wifi. Lovely breakfast. Cons-Room was another matter all together. We were on the fourth floor in a room with a sloping roof... More

This small hotel has an unbeatable location, is clean and comfortable, offers a very good breakfast, and is certainly value for money. The bedrooms - or at least Room 101 - are rather shabby and need a bit of a face-lift, which perhaps is on the cards, as the dining room and lounge are pretty and in the CRM style.... More

the only good thing about this hotel was the staff! It really needs a good refurbish and cleaning. other than that it was okay for an overnight stay. If you have the money even for an over night stay choose somewhere else with better standards!

You have to be fit to take advantage of the budget rooms as there are 90 steps from road level to the forth floor and no lift. Headroom is a bit of an issue as well due to the partial sloping soffit in the bedroom. However it is worth it. Clean, comfortable, great location and helpful friendly staff. A really... More

Stayed here when I took my daughter to a concert! Was clean and staff were very friendly.. So close to the train station.. Great price think ours was £40 for the night including breakfast.. Close to all the shops etc. we stayed in a room facing the street and the noise wasn't bad, things like that don't bother me though..... More

Arrived at 09:00 but could not book into until 14:00. We were told we could have breakfast, even though it was not part of the price for that day. Our room was ready by 12:00. Hotel is a bit dated but this adds to the character. Staff were really friendly and did everything they could for make our stay a... More

OK, so the hotel is tired and in need of a makeover, but that would detract from the character of the place and increase the cost. For a city centre hotel, it is fantastic value for money and central for everything. The rooms are clean and serviced every day and the breakfast is great. I would recommend this place to... More

Spent one night at this hotel in Glasgow. The front desk was very polite and we were checked in within minutes. Arriving at our room, instead of a double we had a triple. Rather than make a fuss we just pushed 2 together though. The room was bright, cheery, very clean & comfortable. We didnt make breakfast due to oversleeping... More

The hotel is located just 1 min from central station, On the upper floors above shops. There are stairs to reception and step winding stairs to al bedroom floors - NO LIFT Whilst the hotel is clean the rooms are in need of some TLC and tired. Bed was clean and comfy sadly only 2 pillows and despite asking for... More
