Was far more than I would have ever expected, stayed in a double room which was more than adequate. The No.1 brasserie was fantastic. I had a great lunch which even though a bowl of soup and sandwich was great and hearty with really good ingredients. The dinner at night time was fantastic with local beef top of the menu.... More

We stayed at Mackays Hotel in Wick in July 2011, it was a short stay (1 Night) and it is difficult to get a full impression from such a short stay. On the Plus Side: Very friendly staff, the common area decor was very nice, parking was no problem and the standard of food served was excellent. On the minus... More

HI So disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your stay as much as we would have liked you to. It is difficult to comment after so much time has passed as we cannot investigate, as I don't have a record of this I am unsure whether you mentioned this at the time of your stay. Please email me direct on... More

2nd time here. Stayed on business trip as the Hospital is straight accross the road.....tip... you can stay parked outside the hotel and walk to the hospital. Very warm welcome in small but pleasant reception area. I was staying in a single room which was pretty small with traditional if not slightly old fashioned decor. Room was clean and comfortable... I had fish and chips which was lovely and I didn't need anything else but my mum had a vegetarian quiche which was looked more like a starter than anything else. Friendly and good service. More

Wick maybe a little bleak and remote, but despite the outward appearance of the granite stone, this Hotel is terrific. Great Room (No 14) with modern bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful - especially the Owner Murray. Excellent restaurant - must be the best in town. Lost of locals use it as well. Nice little bar too. More

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel; the management and staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. It is a good location to explore Wick and close to the Old Pultney Distillery and the Heritage museum. We ate in No 1 Bistro both evenings and were very impressed with the menu and the quality of food and the... More

From learning that the hotel is on the smallest street in the world (a doorway), there are other surprises to await you. Polite greeting on check that included an explanation of the some what old fashioned lift! Had a single bedded room and it was a tad on the small side but had everything I needed. Managed to get a...
