I stayed at the Winston in May 2013. It is not something that I would care to repeat. I was given a room in 'The Cottage', which all sounds very pleasant, but the reality is that it feels like a poor quality garage conversion stuck out in the back yard. Bathroom was extremely poor. Wrinkled vinyl floor covering, complete with... More

We stayed here for one night. It is located right in front of the river and castle. It is about a minute walk to the central city area with a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and shopping opportunities. We stayed in the room on the first floor which comfortably accommodated the four of us. It was clean with a king... More

This guest house is superbly situated in the centre of Inverness with 50p per hour meter parking outside, free parking about 1/2 mile away. Well presented lovely traditional very large Victorian house with high corniced ceilings. Twin room was very spacious with 2 single beds and a small double. Wash basin in room with good drinks making facilities and good... More

Have now stayed here twice. Both times have been with friends for a girly night on the town. Family room for 4 @£80, you cant beat that!!! Always a good welcome. This time we were on the ground floor but were not disturbed by comings and goings. Room/beds/bathroom were all lovely and clean. Breakfast was great and served in good... More

I stayed at the Winston guest house last weekend (Feb 10th 2013) with my husband and our young grandson. On arrival, we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor, as requested due to limited mobility. On first sight, the room looked more than adequate for our one-night stopover. During the night, however, the room became very... More

My wife & I stayed during our honeymoon as we were driving around in Scotland. We found this place right off the main drag and fortunately they had a room. The best part of the stay was the view of the castle and the river out our main window. The room had old/outdated decor and a bed that was adequate... More

We were here for our holiday and we liked it enough as it has many positives to balance the negatives. Initially we did not want to go here due to some of the more negative reviews found here. But the visit Scotland people assured us they had a good record and we were swayed by their location. I am glad... More

This guesthouse has a great location, very friendly hostess, and a good breakfast, but my room was utterly without charm and rather uncomfortable. The bed was dreadful, and the window coverings were too sheer to block the street lights so I had difficulty sleeping in a semi-bright room all night long.

the people at Winston were very friendly, we (4) had a room at the entrance, so good that was no stairs to do, the breakfast room is downstairs, it welcomes 18-20 people, so if u catch the wrong time you may queue, to tell the truth this did not happen to us, the room was spacious , and the bath... I stay for 5 nights in June 2012. Nice room. Small, but perfectly acceptable bathroom. Great location on the River Ness. 60 second walk across the river to the city centre. Plenty of bars, pubs, cafes, restaurants etc within a 5 minute walk. The owner was very attentive and went out of her way to point out places of interest... More
