Great medieval castle for those who want to experience something unusual and mysterious. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. In the evening you can sit by the huge fireplace on comfortable couches sipping a soft drink or a glass of wine with relaxing music as a background. Stuff is very friendly and the service is great! In the evening... More

The tour was great and the food was even better. Best lamb I have ever had. Would love to stay and witness some hauntings. More

My partner and I stayed here as we had never stayed in a castle before.... it was absolutely perfect. From the welcoming and relaxing coffee in front of the incredible fireplace, to the very interesting tour of the castle, to the knowledgeable staff, and in the amazing food, it was the perfect castle stay! The chef was very accommodating to... More

Wendy and Mike were married at the castle on Thursday 8th December amid the gales. What a stormy start to a marriage, however, in the castle everything was calm and serene. We stayed in the Red room and what a room it is, unfortunately minus the ghost this time. We have stayed in many castles but none as magnificent and... More

One of the requireds for our family vacation to Europe this past summer was an overnight in a real castle. Since we were to be in Scotland for a bit I thought "no problem". However, not as easy as it sounds. There are lots of "castle hotels" to be found in Scotland, but not as many 'proper' castle experiences. Many,... More

For starter I has mushroom soup that was very tasty, ross had the black and white pudding tower that was just a piece of white and black pudding. For main... More

We started off our honeymoon here through clans and castles. We stayed in the haunted Red Room, full four poster with red tapestries adorning the walls very atmospheric! No TV or internet connections are available to preserve the authenticity of this place. This really is a spectacular and authentic castle. After an interesting and informative guided tour of the castle... More

I spent one night here with my boyfriend, while having a tour of Scotland, since he is fond of Castles and always wished to stay in one. The location is charming and magic, rooms are comfortable and cosy. No TV or internet connections are available to preserve the authenticity of this place. There are no elevators either and the stone... More

If you’re at all interested in history, staying at Borthwick castle is a thrilling experience. Mary Queen of Scots once stayed here, there is a big indentation in the outer wall where Cromwell blasted it with a cannon, and they even have a haunted room where someone was murdered. The accommodations are not luxurious, as you might imagine, but are... More
