Great location within walking distance to the town centre and the beach, Very well decorated and clean room, but a bit on the small side( i was in room 5), ok for 1 but would have been a bit crowded with 2. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice. Free wifi was good and the shortcake was delicious!!! Only down... More

Our family of 3 (including a 19 month old little girl) stayed here having travelled north from Leeds to attend a friends wedding. The bride and groom had recommended this guest house and it easily met the expectations. The atmosphere was friendly, welcoming and relaxed and the staff were extremely helpful and kind. The room was impeccably clean and extremely... More

Also stayed for a couple of nights in May and had a very comfortable stay, room at the top was fairly small but not too small to feel uncomfortable. The bed was big and we slept like logs, everything clean and tidy with lovely decor. The breakfasts were awesome (thanks Julie) with plenty of choice for everyone. Brilliant stay and... More

We stayed at Bythesea for a couple of nights in May and we had a very pleasant stay. The twin room we had was small but perfectly formed - the space was utilised very well. The décor is modern - some B&B's can be a little shabby, but not this one. It is very well kept, clean and tidy. Our... More

This is a great little bed and breakfast hotel sited very close to the seaside and the local ammonites of the town of Ayr. The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. As a family group we occupied the three double rooms on the first floor and each of them was... More

My wife and I made reservations online and arrived after flying from Oregon. The keys were left by the front door- but we did not get instructions to that effect and no one answered our phonecall or the at the door. Another guest came by and showed us where the keys were. There was an envelope with our name on... More

Our family group took three rooms at Bythesea and we all had a lovely time. It's well located, spotlessly clean, has wonderful beds, serves fantastic breakfast and the staff are friendly and warm - we found nothing wrong at all during our stay. One of the highlights for me was hearing the sound of banter and laughter coming from the... More

Lovely wee guest house 5 minutes walk from Ayr town center. Made feel welcome. We were in an attic room which may have been a challenge had we been any taller but room was spotless and very well equipped. Bed was very comfortable and room was cosy. Breakfast was lovely and there was the widest choice I've ever seen in... More

I agree with all the comments on here. Its just a great place to stay. The location is brilliant, so close to the beach for walking and easy reach for the town centre. Facilities were brilliant much more than you would expect in a guesthouse. Definately returning here.
