The host was great. If you are not sure what you want to do or where to go, ask him. He will give an amazing amount of ideas and history. We visited some of the places he suggested like Charles Fort. It was the best fort in Ireland, and not advertised in the tourists pamphlets much. The room was ordinary.... More

We booked rooms in this b&b based on excellent pictures and reviews. Upon arriving, we were placed in another house, where our room was not well decorated, stained carpet and unpleasant bathroom. Avril was wonderful, as was breakfast, however being placed in a house that we didn't book made this an unpleasant experience. In addition, we booked a total of... More

Avril and Tony make the Fernroyd House experience exceptional. I believe that they were born to be B&B hosts. We only spent one night but have a fond remembrance of our Ireland trip. Tony brought out wine glasses so we could enjoy our wine in elegance on the front patio. We spoke of the fine Irish whiskey. Tony brought a... More

I stayed with my family for one week at Fernroyd House and it was like staying at an old friend's house! Avril and Tony were just so lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them and their breakfasts were just the best! We had the added bonus of having rooms in their 2nd house a few doors down... More

Tony gave us a very friendly welcome at Fernroyd House B&B. He told us, what to do and see and he recommended some restaurants in Cork. The rooms are very beautiful and large, very modern. There is also a backyard if you want to sit outside and a sitting room inside with a small kitchen. The breakfast was delicious, you... More

We've stayed at this b&b for three nights and during this stay there was not a single thing we could complain of. Tony was extremely helpfull with a lot of suggestions about places to visit (it is evident that he loves his country!) and Avril a simply perfect hostess. Their breakfasts are simply delicious and the scones made me gain... More

Although we were only staying one night, Tony & Avril made us feel very welcome. On arrival we received the tastiest homemade scones and pancakes and much needed coffee. Tony also took the time to provide us with recommendations on places to eat and visit - and they were spot on! The rooms were comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out... More

This is the sign you will find at the entrance of the B+B and this is absolutely the case!! We never felt more at home abroad. Avril and Tony made our stay last week unforgetable at their lovely and perfectly located place. Nothing is too much for them and they help you with everything! The rooms are very nice, cosy... More

My husband and I stayed at the Fernroyd House for one night in May of 2013. We arrived earlier than 2 pm for our check in, as we came straight from Killarney that morning, but Avril and Tony could not have been more welcoming and gracious! Tony immeditely sat us down and provided us with Cork history, maps and directions,... More

My partner and I stayed at this B&B for one night in May 2013. The breakfast was delicious (homemade scones, delicious porridge with Baileys). The hosts were so lovely, full of advice on the local area and tips for the best routes to access popular tourists spots. Parking available for guests which was handy, great location within walking distance to... More
