I've just stayed for 3 nights in The Clarence, and I would concur with the majority of the views posted here recently. First the good points: the hotel is in a lovely restored building, with spacious and comfortable public areas, and quite nicely appointed rooms. The staff are very friendly & extremely helpful (although don't expect many to be Irish)... More

We spent one night for work at the Clarence...great location (near Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar) but The Clarence has clearly not had any updates since they opened. What was probably really great wood work in the bedrooms is scuffed on the floor and worn down. Our bathroom mirror had a piece of tape on it to hide a... More

Stayed with my partner for 1 night, and we were prepared for a night in Temple Bar! If you want a quiet romantic night in, or cosy family evening....don't stay in close proximity to the busiest and probably best area for nights out in Dublin! Go to the Cork or Kerry or Galway! Our room was on the 4th floor,... More

This is a really nice hotel with a load of good things going on. Central location, excellent staff, really smart rooms, however if you get a room ending 11, 12, 13, 14, ask for a move, you'll be over a nightclub and the noise, even with the double glazed windows closed, is too much, If I was on holiday I... I guess Dublin's an expensive city, but I felt we paid a lot for not all that much. We got a room upgrade to what they call a 'superior' room (which is basically just a bit bigger - certainly not worth the extra 20 euros). The room was pleasant enough - decorated in that bland style you see in hotels... More

Attended a dinner function in hotel & stayed overnight. The Hotel needs a total revamp . It's showing it's age and not very well. Bedroom ( even a premium room) is small and NOISE comes from night club and pub nearbyby. Definitely for us not a place to return to. Fish served was the poorest ever had in Dublin .Staff... More

The room I was allocated was excellent. The view was fantastic overlooking the city of Dublin. The staff were very welcoming and friendly on arrival, even organising my bags to the room while I had a lovely lunch in the bar. The Fish (smoked haddock) and chips was very good and good value. My breakfast the next morning, omelette was... More

I have now stayed at The Clarence three times this past time being in September. I fell in love with this hotel the first time I stayed there and my trips back to Ireland are never complete until I stay here. It is in the perfect location. You walk out of The Clarence and you instantly have access to Restaurants,... More

I recently had a night at The Clarence Hotel after reading favourable reviews here. I took my partner to Dublin for the night en route home from Galway. I have been to Dublin many times but as this was my partners first trip I thought I would treat us to a 5* stay. The Clarence is ideally situated for Temple... More
