My mother booked this place over the internet without really checking the reviews, on the basis of location and the fact it had parking. But he whole experience was not pleasant for our only night in Dublin... Welcome is not very nice, the room was pretty ugly, with old and dirty carpet, industrial ceiling in bad condition, minuscule and quite... More

I was in Dublin this St Paddy 2013 Weekend, and I booked the Clifden Guesthouse with long advance, since it was the best compromise price/location that I could get. The B&B acronym should be translated with Bed & Bathroom since breakfast is not included, but the Cofee at the corner of the street is super good so I guess it... More

My husband and I made the mistake of landing in Dublin with plans to leave the following day, but without making arrangements for the one night we planned to stay ahead of time. The couple of hostels I'd planned on checking into were full for the evening, so in desperation and out of pure exhaustion, we booked a double room... More

I have just come back from a weekend at the Clifden with the girls (3 of us). Firstly lets remember that its 30 euro each per night, if you want any more than a bed and a shower, then expect to pay more! So Im not really sure what people are expecting? The rooms are basic and very tired. We... More

Stayed in the clifden guest house twice now and it was ideal for what we were after. short walk into temple bar area and O'Connell street. Clean basic rooms and friendly staff. Old jim on the night shift is a legend! Such a nice man! I would recommend the clifden.

The low price not worth it. We were in town for the US college football game and many hotels were already full by the time we booked (or were very much overpriced). I had read other's reviews, but the pictures on the website and the rooms described were not what we got. We arrived with another couple who had a... More

I honestly can not think of anywhere as bad as this! On arrival our group was put in rooms 3, 11 and 9. We had booked a weekend in Dublin for a concert and found hotels full so opted for the Clifden. Having read reviews we weren't expecting much but clean and comfortable would have been fine. Oh dear- not... More

I don't know what the other grumpy reviewers are on about. The main girl in charge was super helpful and even wrote me out a list of wicked places to go to see music which weren't touristy and I had a cracking time. The rooms were spacious and the shower was powerful. It felt slightly like the house of my... More
