For me the most important two features of any B&B is a working shower and a bed comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep. All the rest is largely frills although it would have been nice to have a kettle that could stop boiling over without having to pull the plug and maybe some teabags. The service is impersonal... Just awful, rude and terrible service, 2 towels between 7 of us, smelled odd, absolutely freezing. plug sockets hanging off the wall, one micro thin pillow each. one to avoid...as a regular visitor to dublin pay an extra 10 euros a room and go to the northern star hotel I'd say, be the best 10 euros you've ever spent

When we arrived, a lady with very poor English answered the door. She didn't even say hi or anything, we were just told to get are stuff inside quickly and shut the door as we were letting all the cold air in. Once inside, the house was freezing anyway. I don't think I saw the lady smile once and she... More

Meant to leave this review a few months ago but forgot. I stayed here for one night back in December and it was joke. Firstly when i arrived it looked like no one was home..so went in and rang the bell. After a couple of mins a woman with very poor English answered the door. She told me she had... More

I made the awful mistake of booking this place without checking the reviews first! Big mistake! It's as the reviews describe. The place was cold (as well as the receptionist). Make sure and bring confirmation of your booking as they don't seem to have their own booking system. You have to prove you booked it. Payment has to be done... More

Everything was negative about this place. There was no heating on when we arrived and when we asked for it to be put on we were told it was on timer. Towels were being dried on radiators so were like a board. We were given a 2" square of soap between 4 people. Bathroom was damp and filthy. We booked... More

For €34 for a night's accommodation in Dublin, it was grand and i've no complaints - in fact, I would stay there again. I literally just needed a bed for the night and for that, it was perfect. If i'd wanted to hang out in my room all day, I'd have booked a 'nice' hotel but Donnybrook Lodge worked for... More

I had a twin ensuite room booked, which was supposed to be spacious and quiet. I got a small, grubby room with a double bed. The ensuite toilet had mold and the fan ran for 30 minutes after switching it off. The room was in the front of the house, the road was so loud I barely slept. I should... More

We were promised a "spacious en suite room" but were given a hole in the wall. The breakfast was cold cereal and air bread. On leaving we saw the room we were promised being cleaned which was indeed spacious and quiet. We were promised "room number 1" and were given Number 7. 1 was at the back, hence quiet; 7... More
