I am not sure if Limerick is the right place to stay in if you wish to explore the Ring of Kerry and the south western part of Ireland. Perhaps Killarney might be a better choice. We couldnt have been happier with the service and comfort that Bridget supplied at Desmond Lodge. Exceptional breakfast, spotless room, and Bridget has a lot of local knowledge and is very proud of her adjacent Lough. The Lodge is in a lovely position overlooking the Lough with lots of bird life. This was by far our best B&B experience we have ever had. Bridget is a wonderful and warmhearted lady and took great care of us. When we arrived I was sick due to some bad mussels. Desmond Lodge at Lough Gur is a wonderful accomodation and the hostess Bridget is exceptional. As a decorator, I can be fussy about my accomodations but Desmond Lodge will not disappoint. Great food, great location and just a special place.
