I stayed on business midweek, the fork was dirty, the plate had sauce around the edges. I completed a customer survey, addressed this to the general manager. Did she take my comments on board ? She didn't bother following it up. I wouldn't return. I wouldn't recommend. Perhaps a little customer service could have made a great difference. More

Just had a nice relaxing break in Sligo with my boyfriend and his family. We had a great stay. The hotel itself was fantastic and all staff we came across could not have been nicer . We made full use of all the facilities I particularly loved the sauna and steam room. We all ate in the bar on the second... More

NOVEMBER 2011 – I refer to our recent stay and unfortunately find it necessary to write to highlight some of the litany of issues that arose. Notwithstanding, that this was a particularly busy week for the hotel, we would have expected a better standard all round- especially when we always have more pleasant stays at the nearby Radisson. Breakfast- each... More

Myself and my wife stayed there on an overnight on route to Donegal. I have to honestly say it is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in. The building is a former "lunatic asylum" and there is an air of desperation about the whole place. We expected that once we entered the building it would be modern and cheerful... More

Dear Jomac233 Thank you for your feedback on the hotel. The building has a beautiful Elizabethan Façade and we have 2 former churches restored on the grounds also. The interior is modern contemporary which I accept is not to your taste. The Clarion Hotel is a very popular hotel choice in Sligo. In excess of 75,000 guests stayed with us... More

We spent one night at the Clarion outside Sligo during a 10 day drive around Ireland. The Clarion is a bit outside of Sligo, but if you have a car, it isn't a problem. The grounds and the look of the building are very charming with the hills in the background. The hotel is older - it should be immediately... More

We booked to stay in this hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of Feb 2012 and stayed for just 1 night. On arrival, the outside of the building looked fantastic and inside, the staff are very pleasant, but unfortunately they are the only positives in this review. The hotel was dirty, from the carpeted floors all over the hotel... More

Dear Deirdre M Thank you for your review. My apologies that you had issues with your seating areas in the bar and restaurant. I can assure you that the wooden floors are vacuumed and washed every night and the carpet areas are vacuumed daily and shampooed monthly. The brown stain on the mattress was coffee and I regret that this... More

Traveled to Sligo on Thursday last to stay in the Clarion Hotel. Will not recommend or stay in this hotel ever again. No T.V. in the bar, no newspaper in bar or in hotel to buy or free as in most 4 star hotels. Told I could get paper in local shop along with a tooth brush which I had... More

Dear Thomaso567 Thank you for your feedback during your stay with us. As I explained on the phone we would have not charged for the steak or replaced it had we known at the time when the waitress checked on you. The bar does have a TV over the fireplace which guests can watch at their leisure. The daily newspapers... More

Recently booked for my partner and myself to stay for the weekend for a nice relaxing break. Overall the hotel is very well located (near the Hospital about 20min walk into city centre or £10). Rooms are very spacious and clean. If you book a king room there is a very good chance to get an upgrade to a suite.... More

Myself and my wife took a break here for two nights, 28 and 29 January 2011. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel and its facilities excellent. The breakfast was superb and the general luxury of the hotel was a treat. Having worked in tourism for twelve years, I would highly recommend a stay in this... More

What are nice place to stay for a weekend away. If you are looking for a nice peaceful getaway this is the place to be. The hotel building itself is beautiful. We stayed two nights.
