Sophie welcomed us at the start of a surprisingly bright and sunny weekend in February. We tried both rooms during our 3 night stay as the double had already been booked on our second day. Both rooms were spotless, warm and comfortable and enjoyed fine views over the Nidder valley. We were royally looked after at breakfast by Sophie and... More

Perfect place, in very pretty village and only 10 minutes from Harrogate. We were attending an event in Harrogate and took a chance not to stay in Harrogate itself. Wise move as we found this gem. The B&B accommodation is over a very smart deli/tea shop, home made cakes, lunches etc. The rooms were quiet and beautifully clean with comfortable... More

Hampswaite is only a 5-10 minute drive from Harrogate, whilst staying there we also visited York, Grassington, Ripon and Fountains Abbey as well as spending a really pleasant evening in The Joiners Arms next door. At the B&B we received a warm welcome and were shown to the double room which was perfectly presented with large Romeo and Juliet balcony... More

Sophie's B&B was recommended by friends and what a magic find ! We had a warm welcome from Sophie and her daughter who showed us to our tastefully appointed double room with a clever fold out balcony which opened to a wonderful view across the countryside (WITH A COMFY BED). Bathrooms can be disappointing when staying away but take it... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sophie's B&B for one night in July 2012 as we were attending a wedding at nearby Ripley Castle. I had looked at other places in Harrogate, but we were tempted by the accommodation photos and the promise of breakfast in the cafe - and we weren't disappointed! The accommodation is great, we stayed in... More

I live in the USA and this proved to be a perfect place for visiting family and friends in the area. Comfortable well appointed room with good view of the surrounding dales. Delicious breakfast served with good coffee and a warm friendly welcome.

We stayed at Sophie's on 11th July, the accommodation was excellent and the welcome from Sophie very warm, she could not do enough for us. Breakfast the following morning was very good. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return. Thank you

This is one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in. My wife and I stayed two nights in the double room. Located in the lovely little village of Hampsthwaite, this is a good alternative to staying within nearby Harrogate. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless clean and in top condition; the entire building has been extensively upgraded and... More

Sophie greeted us so warmly on our arrival, despite being busy in her cafe. No surprise really, it was smashing in there and the home-made afternoon tea was delicious and really good value. Great ambience created by friendly staff, young mums with offspring and space for wheelchair users. Decor cosy, two bright sofas by fire for winter days. The rooms... More
