Maintenance department does not exist! One or two faults would have been amusing but a great long list! Basics not dealt with. Denied access for 2nd night and accused of not paying for it - till we produced receipts.

Stayed in unusual circumstances, our neighbour was throwing a party, and me and the wife were committed in looking after our grandson for that evening, so we came up a cunning plan of finding a cheap overnight stay so we could have peaceful sleep with the added bonus watching the X factor undisturbed, eat a veggie bean burger from Burger... Booked in here for a few nights whilst our house purchase went through. It was a nightmare. They let anyone in. Drunks everywhere, fights, it was like a scene from a western, you could not make this up. We were woken one night by a couple screaming and fighting. We and others complained to the desk reception, which is in... More

Our room smelled of damp. The bed was small, uncomfortable and the bedding was full of holes. No net curtains on the windows, so the people in the vans outside could see straight in. Bathroom was terrible - mould all around the bath and shower head. The toilet leaked water all over the floor when flushed. Rude notes stuck all... More

The rooms stink of cigarette smoke, there are several burns also, including the toilet seat (toilet lid not even present). The room was cold and they've installed a timer so the maximum the electric heater will stay on for is 2 hours. The staff are non existent, who's actually going to get dressed and walk to the nearby shop to... More

After reading other reviews regarding Rivington Lodge my family and I were a little sceptical to stay. However may I put the record straight. We booked a family room ( 4 people) for £25 where Devere Whites and other nearby hotels were asking £65-£75 for a one night stay. The bedding was clean and fresh, the beds really comfortable and... Very pleasantly surprised and pleased with this hotel as wasn't expecting it to be anything great for £24.99 a night. We used it as a stopover while travelling for 2 adults and 2 children and only needed the room for around 9 hours just to sleep. We arrived after 11pm and other than finding it odd that you had to...
