We stayed here in march so we didn't get to enjoy the pool - but the bed was great and the place was clean. The breakfast was better than your average french breakfast with eggs (hard-boiled) but still eggs - We don't drink coffee and there was hot chocolate that was so yummy - homemade jams and service that was... We arrived by bicycles (steep climb) to discover an oasis of charm and elegance. We dove into the pool Neanderthals only to emerge full of sophistication to order a poolside drink. The place is divine, beautiful, peaceful with wonderful service and a fabulous food. Our greatest regret was leaving… More

Stayed at La Tortinere during September 2011. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings with a pool and a tennis court. The room was large and quiet. However, the menu was exactly the same every evening and choice was therefore limited. We did ask for an omelette on two out of the three evenings but this was also a great... More

We stayed for three nights and were allocated a beautiful room with a wonderful view. The restaurant food was outstanding for dinner but the breakfast was expensive and quite basic. The hotel is quite a drive from Tours but we had a car so it was not a problem. The downside is the high cost of food and drinks at... More

We arrived here in the early evening after a stressful drive from Paris and along the autoroutes - tip, learn how to use French tolls before you go! Driving through the gates was magic, and the tension slipped away as we smiled at the trees and carpet of cyclamens along our path. On arrival we were greeted by our concierge... More

I can not say enough good things about this chateau-hotel. The young staff there were incredibly friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and attentive. The chateau is charming, and well maintained. We were provided with a room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise, and the room exceeded all our expectations. Breakfast at the chateau is a nice treat as you overlook some of... More

There is nothing to complain about our vacation to Tortiniere castle last week despite the poor rooms in this castle hotel. Our room was stinky and the decoration is cheap like a country house more than an old castle. We’d complained about the smell in our roomd but there was no improvement after the housekeepers did there job in the... More

From the moment you arrive until you leave the staff make you very welcome...nothing is to much trouble. The chateau rooms are very spacious meeting all of your needs. The beautiful outdoor area and surrounding grounds provide a perfect relaxing environment. By far the restaurant cuisine is exceptional matched by a great wine selection and staff service second to none.... More

We arrived at the chateau feeling somewhat frayed from 6 weeks on a driving holiday in Europe, finding very few people spoke English in southern France. Cecile at the front desk was wonderful. Her English was very good and a great relief for us. She welcomed us and from that moment all of our needs were met. Our room while... More
