I recently stayed at Le Clos Jouvenet in picturesque Rouen. Catherine DeWitte & her husband were charming hosts and went out of their way to be helpful. The house & garden is gorgeous and I had a room overlooking the cathedral. The room was beautifully decorated with special touches (like bathrobe) as is the whole house. The French breakfast was... My daughter and I stayed last year and I have been meaning to do this review for sometime. We just loved this beautiful house, the fantastic décor and friendliness of Catherine and her husband. This was, without doubt the most impressive place we have stayed in France. Staying here is like being invited to stay with friends in a grand... More

Hubbie and I recently spent three nights at Le Clos Jouvenet, in the very charming city of Rouen. This is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in. The house is a gracious 19th century property with beautiful gardens, and Mme DeWitte has decorated the house exquisitely. We had a very comfortable and spacious ensuite room on the... More

This was the first time my husband and I have stayed at a B&B - thinking it was the right time and place to try it. We searched TripAdvisor for hours looking for the right fit for us. We were highly pleased and Le Clos Jouvenet has set the bar high for sure. Catherine is highly responsive (via email and... More

We stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed for longer. Catherine is a superb host and has created an extremely comfortable and well furnished home. The location overlooking Rouen is much quieter than we expected, and the large garden is also a surprise in a city. Breakfast was served in the sun room which overlooks the garden,... More

We stayed with Catherine for three nights (October 10 - 12, 2012). She could not have been a better host. This B&B is located a 25 minute walk (downhill on the way there, uphill on the way home) from the centre of Rouen. Catherine provided advice, helped with travel planning and even made reservations for us. The information provided was... More

This property is located about a 20-25 minute walk from downtown Rouen. If you are not inclined to walk much you will need to use your car or take taxis. We were welcomed with a beverage, and received advice about local restaurants and sites. The room was spacious, furnishings and decor were beautiful, and very clean, and the bed linen,... More

A wonderful place to stay in Rouen and Catherine made us all feel very welcome! The home is so tastefully decorated yet doesn't feel stuffy or intimidating and it was really a special B & B. I would definitely recommend staying here when in the area.

Le Clos Jouvenet delivers all the aspects that other reviewers have listed and is indeed a rare gem. If you stay here on a visit to Rouen, on your way to or from Calais, you will be rewarded with a very special atmosphere. One word of warning however: Check whether your room is suitable for elderly or disabled guests as... More

Le Clos Jouvenet had everything that one hopes to find to spend a comfortable night while on holiday: lovely spacious and clean rooms with delicious fresh breakfast. But it is the added value that made it stand out: the access to a wonderful old property built in 1840 in a quiet and residential part of Rouen (on a hill with... More
