“A gem - we extended our stay!”

We arrived at the Abbaye for a single night stay on July 8th, 2009, but enjoyed the atmosphere and location so much we stayed for four nights using the hotel as a base and exploring the Loire Valley by day. Excellent. My wife and I have stayed at the hotel on two occcasions and eaten in the restaurant when staying in a nearby gite. Both the hotel and the Abbaye Royale are beautifully restored. This is an extraordinary place within the abbey compound at Fontevraud Abbey which is being fastidiously restored. Rooms are spotless as are ensuite bath facilities. Lovely dining at the cloisters(smallest in France) with fine food and pleasant service.
