Overall good hotel. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, smack in the middle of Nice. The Mercure site states on-site parking, what they mean however is that there is a public (pay) carpark beneath the hotel. In terms of amenities etc this may be a 4 star hotel but in terms of service and location, definitely not. To be fair, all the housekeeping and food/beverage staff were very polite and helpful, but the receptionists- the "face" of the hotel- were not. Stayed one night in May. Great location - close to the train station and an easy walk from the beach. Room was damp and although it was supposedly renovated recently, there were already stains on the carpets and cigarette burns in the bedding - especially nasty for a non-smoking room. I stayed one night for business and unfortunately I can't suggest this hotel! The room was unpleasant, old furniture and the carpet/moquette not so clean. The bathroom door bad painted. I paid €155 and I would consider this hotel as a 2 star hotel. more

Pleasent enough & well located, but this is a 3-star standard with the bonus of a small but nice roof-top pool. Good breakfast, convenient parking (EUR12 per day) helpful service.
