We stayed at Chateau de Roussan in February 2013. This remains one of our most memorable trips to France. The place is unique with a centuries-old library where you can immerse yourself in Provencal poetry, a stunning private park to wander around, and fully-remodeled rooms that feature authentic furniture, making you feel right at home. From the Chateau, we could... More

Hotel was ok but we dined in the restaurant and were very disappointed. Lamb came out raw with no apologies or requests to how I would have liked it cooked. No wine service. Concierge was very helpful. Shame.

This is a lovely restored villa with spacious rooms and modern amenities. The property is beautiful and quite photogenic. We were there in November, but it would be a peaceful place to stay at any time. The restaurant was very good for dinner, although we generally choose to eat out. It is quite near Saint-Remy-de-Provence, but you will use a... More

Spent a night here while driving down to Cannes. Absolutely beautiful setting even in winter time. It was a little bit difficult to find with the address listed online - we later phoned them to hear exact road. The accommodation was lovely and we had a delightful dinner at the restaurant. I would love to visit here during summer.

Very pleased with the accommodation in this lovely chateau, 2kms out of town, and the restaurant is excellent. It's a little out of the way, which is both a good and a bad thing - bad only because the surrounds are not all that conducive to exploring on foot. I think you'd want to use this place as a base... Stayed 5 nights in December 2012 and had an enjoyable stay. Being the low season, it was very quiet. Rooms were nice and big (compared to the usual European hotels). Didn't try the resturant there though. You can walk to St Remy but it will at least be a 20 min walk. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at the Chateau de Roussan for four nights in July, 2012. The grounds are historic and St. Remy is positively magical. The location is great if you plan to do what people do best in Provence -- stroll around and enjoy the markets and the historic sites. I would agree that, especially in July, a pool would have... We went to St Remy over the weekend as the weather for December was sunny and lovely. The hotel perfectly complimented the weather. The grounds are lovely and peaceful. We booked a room "chatelain" at a very good offseason rate. It was large, nice views, nicely appointed. The staff was helpful and welcoming. I left my charger in the room... More

Our second time to Chateau de Roussan. We stayed four nights after our arrival from Paris and the train to Avignon and it is a refuge. Beautiful grounds, beautiful entrance, friendly staff, great rooms and bathrooms. We had the continental breakfast in the mornings which is all we wanted and I don't remember that being offered our last visit. It's... More

We stayed at the Chateau de Roussan for 4 nights in October, 2012 following a river cruise that ended in Avignon. After staying overnight in Avignon, we picked up our rental car at 8 a.m. and drove the short distance to St. Remy, arriving at the hotel early, on a Monday morning. Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Only the XIIIth century could offer such a charming mansion, only 2km away from Saint‐Rémy de Provence. As you’ll slowly walk down the elegant alley of centennial plane trees, you’ll discover the “Château de Roussan”, designed by a brilliant French architect. Enchanted by his creation, he offered it a façade decorated with an elegant balcony overlooked by a majestic front wall; in the manner of a theatre stage set. ... more   less
