A group of twelve of us in our classic cars booked into this hotel for the night of 23rd September 2012. We arrived mid afternoon as a party of local classic car rally enthusiasts were leaving after their victory celebrations. We asked for tea to be served on the terrace. This arrived and the water was tepid which we complained... More

I stayed in this "Castle" as part of the Contiki Tour - Chateau de fontager is their featured hotel. Its quite hard to reach this place as it's situated at a quite remote village. Its rumoured to be haunted, and of course i told some of our team mates. Everyone was soo excited, but it ends up that nothing happended... More

Stayed here for one night as part of Contiki Featured hotel. We arrived at the Chateau when it was dark so everything look errie and spooky. The interior of the hotel looks victorian. We were told the building is old and to pack an overnight bag, so I'm not sure if there is a lift or not. The room we... More

We did stay one night this summer and it was ever so hot that the enormous swimmingpool was more than welcome! It was a pitty that in between lunch and dinner you could not order some refreshments and or drinks. The room was OK but situated near the elevator shaft and that gives some noise but fortunate the hotel was... More

Really awesome to stay somewhere that had so much history. But got a little spooky when the lights flick off in the hall. Rooms are great and clean. Dining room and bar are great. Staff are friendly. Probably much better to stay in winter. Each room is different and really cool to explore.

What a pity that this once beautiful place has been left to run down. There was a confusion about our booking, although we had a written confirmation. The reception sorted it out and was very efficient with fixing the internet. If the place had some TLC it would be outstanding.

very individual accomodation. we had a 4 poster which was great. yes everything could do with a spruce up but all added to the overall uniqueness of the property. the pool was spacious and quiet, lovely! the food was a surprise as it was exceedingly good. apple tart with caramel sauce and vanilla icecream, heaven! would definately stay again.

Without a doubt some of the rudest people I have ever met, manage to up-set friends from the following countries, new zealand, uk, ireland, usa, germany & france, need i go on. Did not stick to original agreement, made the bride cry, closed the bar 20 mins after opening it. Over charged for Everything, really overcharged. Do yourself a favour,... More

a wonderful old building from afar, but once inside its a depressing place indeed. in need of some tlc, friendly staff and customers! was quite creepy staying there. poor quality linen and no dinner availability didn't help. neither did the adjacent train line. stick to places in tain l'hermitage if you are on the wine circuit.
