Yes it’s dated by trendy modern standards - but it surpasses the majority of hotels we visit in the UK by a very comfortable margin. The rooms, though a tad worn around the edges, are clean, warm, inviting, and scrupulously clean with crisp white bed linen, dressing gowns and slippers.
