I selected this hotel for its location five minutes from the main train station, accessed directly from the airport - and was also attracted by the photos of the extraordinarily OTT canopied bed! Nice central location just north of the Hauptbahnhof which is the main train station in munich. The hotel is about a ten minute walk into the heart of the city and about the same dustance to the theresenwiese where the Octoberfest is held. Very friendly and multilingual staff at reception. Stayed in November 2012 for just over £60 a night. Great location-we travelled by train and it was only a couple of minutes walk through a decent area from the Hauptbahnhof. Good, but nothing special, breakfast average, stuff friendly and helpfull. Location is nice, close to Main Railwaystation and tour busses. Walking distance to old city, Marienplatz and others. In room 415 the shower/wc department had some bad odor.
