The Mariandl Hotel isn't by any means immaculate, the breakfast is basic and the customer service is more youth hostel than boutique hotel. We stayed 3 nights in Mariandl for Oktoberfest 2009. The close location to the fair grounds was perfect. Not a bad walk to Marienplatz or other Munich sites either.
