We found this hotel through a booking site and on arrival I wondered what it would be like inside. However, remember the old adage, 'Don't judge a book by it's Cover'!! This place really is deceptive. When I went in to the Reception/Bar, the welcome I received from Sarah was a credit to both her and the Hotel. She was... More

Stayed here with my 3 children. We had the best family room, plenty of space and very comfortable. We had a great breakfast and evenin g meal at the upper deck. Great service throughout our stay. Was surprisingly quite at night given the location.

Stayed in Hotel a few time through work recently. Excellent hotel, comfy rooms and excellent food with breakfast cooked to order. Well worth staying if your in Thurso, friendliest hotel and pub in Thurso, worth driving that extra 1.5 miles to Scrabster.

We stayed twice at this hotel, first prior to going out to Orkney and then again on our return. It is certainly perfectly placed for catching a ferry. We stayed in the same room on both occasions and the welcome we received on arrival was warm. The room itself was also very good - spacious with nice furnishings and clean.... More

Booked a room for the 5th, but arrived the 4th of september, my mistake... Ferry Inn was full, but the kind lady at the front desk did anything in her power to give us a bed in town... 6 phonecalls later she had arranged everything, with a smile! On top of that she arranged with booking.com that we got our... More

Didn't stay, just came to the Upper Deck for a special meal and weren't disappointed. Both had steak which was tremendous, and lovely sauce. Staff were attentive on a busy evening. Expensive-ish but worth it. I tried others in the area and this stands out. The downside is the view, which is of a ferry terminal and harbour. Don't insist... More

We stayed for two nights at The Ferry Inn and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The Staff were very friendly, very accommodating and very efficient. We had a very comfortable room on the first floor at the front of the Inn which was very well furnished, had a very good en-suite (both with heating which we could adjust to our liking)... More

Location - ferry / working harbour so not pretty to look at. Hotel - fantastic room, large, clean, modern furnishings and bathroom, loved the shower. We controlled the heating in the room too ( can be cold in Scotland any time of year !! ). Bed was very comfortable. Pity we only stayed one night. Pub- normal kind of place... More
