a good 4* hotel, very good service and good food on a lovely traditional german square. at £65 for 2 per night, it is a very good deal. hildesheim is quite pleasant and has plenty of shops and museums and churches, and a castle to visit. hannover has great historical connections to the uk but is quite ugly and austere.
