Very central in El Puerto de Santa Maria which is a typical Spanish town. Easy to travel to Serville, Jerez or Cadiz either by car or high speed trains. Staff on reception very helpful and co-operative and speak fluent English. Interior full of genuine antiques, and the hotel was spotless. Celebrated our 40th anniversary in the hotel´s restaurant. Excellent choice... More

This very conveniently situated hotel is so large and rambling that it is easy to get lost, and you are always finding new corners, and coming across pictures, sculptures and antique furniture. The long corridors leading to the bedrooms could do with updating, but overall it is very comfortable, the food is good and the staff exceptionally helpful More

Nice place to stay near the centre of Puerto. Has a secure underground garage which is useful as the streets are conjested. The reception staff are exceptionally helpful. Rooms are getting a little run down, but the old building and its location make the hotel value for money. More

A short stay ( 3 nights ) in this hotel during Christmas time. Amazing complex since it was a convent with church and now refurbished in a 4 star hotel. Antiques spread all over the building, wide rooms ( mine was a junior type room paid as standard room), absence of noises, in the main street of the town, huge... More

I stayed a couple of nights in the Monasterio San Miguel. The room was huge, almost an apartment and very well prepared. As well as double of all the usual toiletries, there was a complimentary bowl of fruit. It's in a lovely location and has lots of the sort of features you'd expect of a converted monastery - walled courtyard,... More

This is indeed a beautiful hotel in a delightful setting. However it was impossible to have breakfast served in my room before 8 am and on the morning of our departure impossible to get a cup of coffee at reception at 7 o'clock. I did not appreciate this rigidity in a so-called 4-star hotel. More

we arrived for three nights as a group of 5 friends and found the hotel very clean, staff very friendly and excellent tapas . The whole relaxed atmosphere was like a spanish parador with paintings and antiques , although it had a very airly feel with a central courtyard where drinks were served. We booked through voyage prive and had... More

This hotel does have its charms, the stained glass windows and the courtyard are nice features, but they are nice features in a hotel that is old fashioned and in real need of some love. Many of the rooms which face the pool have huge chunks of paint and masonry missing, and which painted in mustard yellow, only adds to... More
