The hotel is in a fabulous location, within walking distance to the shopping area and all of the tourist spots are within 15 minutes. The hotel is very beautiful with a wonderful large entrance with three restaurants/bars to choose from, each one a little differently appointed, more loungelike, more barlike, or more restaurantlike. The morning breakfast includes numerous choices, including...

We stayed for several days in a panoramic room with a view of the Cathedral, and I thought the room was spacious for European sized rooms, with a comfy bed, variety of pillows, coffee and tea selections, minibar, good closet space, and ample-sized desk to work on. The bathroom was large with an excellent rain shower, and provided comfy robes...

We stayed at the Melia Colon for 7 nights, this past week.
It is a beautiful hotel, right in the middle of everything and looking great!
The staff is delightful, helpful and always smiling.
However, I wouldn't give it 5* only because some of the amenities were a bit outdated.
The lighting system is frustrating and trying too hard to...

We spent two nights in this beautiful hotel in June 2011, with two panoramic deluxe rooms on the El Greco floor (which features images from his paintings on the room doors). My husband and I were traveling with my niece for nearly three weeks in Spain and this was hands down her favorite hotel in the country and probably ours...

We stayed at the Gran Melia Colon Dec. 8th through the 12th. Upon arrival we were greeted by the doorman and the reception personnel was very friendly as was the concierge. The room was adequate although I must agree with the other reviewers as to the complicated lighting (on/off switches that would drive anyone up a wall). The location was...

A very design lead hotel in a good location with very friendly and efficient staff. My room was large and brilliantly designed. I particularly liked the window through to the bathroom and the curtain that closes completely across the corridor to make an extremely cosy bedroom of an evening. The bed was very comfortable with a good selection of pillows...

Location is great, although it is very easy to get lost among the surrounding small street and alleys. Room was fine but overly complex lighting. No quilts for the bedding. Pretty good breakfast, included. Very smelly perfume or deodorant or something stunk up the corridors during our two night stay there.
The remote controlled curtain the covers the glass shower...

This hotel stay was after a long week and was a great relief when I arrived.
The rooms were very unique and comfortable.
The gym was modern and soothing.
The breakfast felt very deluxe. Big selection.
Overall the service here was top-notch!
I was very glad to have been able to stay here in such a beautiful city.

Stayed here as part of a tour, so expense was not a consideration. Breakfast came with the room and was excellent. Location was also excellent, in relatively easy walking distance to many attractions. The lighting system in the room was unique (best description). Had to hunt for the switches and do some experimentation before figuring it all out. The bathroom...
