The Hotel Born sparked my interest because it's a former Ducal Palace and it looked conveniently located in the old city walking distance to most of the places I wanted to go. The hotel itself is perfectly located for roaming around the old city, with restaurants and shops right out the door, and all the main attractions within a 5... More

If you want to stay in the centre of Palma for a few days this is the place. It's a converted old embassy building with a central courtyard and the interesting bedrooms in the main overlook it. They are all different but are in traditionl spanish style with big doors and brass fittings. Certainly not the bland conformity of a... More

Stayed here as a base for cycling trips with my brother. Great atmosphere and quiet sleeping in the heart of Palma. If you want a spa, fitness area etc. etc. then don't go here. Don't let yourself be guided by the (only) 2 * of the hotel. The rooms are simple, decent. I would give them 3*. Breakfast buffet is... More

would recommend this place. very atmospheric, clean, excellent breakfast including bucks fizz. Our room was lovely with 4 poster bed. Whilst centrally located, tucked away and despite being near busy road, central shopping area, restaurants and bars close by, couldn't hear any of it. Inexpensive in comparison to some of the more 'standard' modern hotels and definately full of character More

This is a beautiful, affordable and incredibly well-located property. Nevertheless, if your legs are not in good shape, be aware: you may have to climb lots of stairs, with your luggage, since there is neither an elevator nor a bellboy around to help you. If legs are not a factor, stay there! You will be sorrounded by nice restaurants and... More

The hotel is hidden in a narrow lane in Palma. It is an old Palace turned into a hotel. There is a patio were you can sit and rest. It is very calm there away from the nearby streets. The rooms are comfortable and there is an air of days gone by. A broad, bent stair case leads to the... More

A delightful small hotel and although the bathroom in our junior suite was on the small side, it was more than made up for by the original painted ceiling in the bedroom. This former palace has been restored to provide a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and less than a stone's throw from all the... More

As other reviewers have pointed out, the hotel has a great location: it's an easy walk to the sights of the old city and is convenient to public transport (we came by bus from the airport). The lobby and courtyard are very nice, and a reasonable buffet breakfast is included. The rooms themselves are worn and lack simple amenities to... More

October 2011: Just returned from a four-night stay at the Hotel Born. An old castle with great charm. About two blocks from the cathedral. Perfect location. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. Decent continental breakfast (included in the price). More
