If you're an economical traveler this is a truly wonderful albergue or hostal. The location is very good, a few minutes from Las Ramblas but far enough to be pleasantly quiet. Stayed one night in June 2010 and would stay again and recommend it to others. Directions on hotel website were very good and it's just under ten minutes to walk from Universitat Metro Station. Be aware there is no elevator. I had room with bath. Very clean, spacious. Neighborhood is mainly residential and quiet. Easy walk to metro. Excellent value. Visitors are mainly youngish - 20s, 30s. Negatives: the antiquated European system of having to leave your key when you leave the hotel. Anybody could come in and ask for your key and gain... more

We arrived at this hostel and were pleasantly surprised with it. It is far more like a hotel and very good value for money. After spending a long time looking for a nice affordable hotel in Barcelona, I'm glad I settled on this one. While the room was somewhat small, it was always clean and comfortable. We stayed in a Twin Superior Room- good size room, with tv, closet, little walk-out patio, and surprisingly large bathroom with bath/shower, toilet, bedet, sink and lots of counter space. I had to travel to Barcelona for a couple of days and found this hostel over the internet. I missed some extra services in my room, but it was a great value for money, and nicely located! I'll surely have to go back to Barcelona in the near future, and I will go back to this hostel again! more

I stayed in the superior room during my trip. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. Housekeeping services are provided. The hotel is about 5-8 minutes walk from the Las Ramblas. Only setback may be the lack of a lift therefore it may be a little inconvenient for people with large and heavy bags. more
