Stayed in Jan easy to reach from underground clean basic rooms walking distance to cathedral old town harbour ect .Lost my wallet whilst I was there and Julia at reception was very helpful. Don't forget to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view. For a budget stay hard to beat.

Great location right in central barcelona, near main tourist sites and lots of great restaurants. Each room has a cute balcony with a great view of the plaza, cathedral, and roman walls. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Bathrooms were perfectly clean especially considering everything was bright white tile. Overall, extremely satisfied with hostel layetana.

HL was very basic. We were willing to put up with the noise from the street below to enjoy the awesome view of the cathedral just outside out window, and also, they had to stay open because there is no AC and it is SCORCHING (we went in July). Very nice location, next to Catherdral. Close & walking distance to Las Ramblas and shopping area. Close to subway. This is a clean hostal in a good location. I was there during the La Merce festival and the location of this hostal is on the parade route. Stayed here for 5 nights over the Easter weekend with St George's day on the Saturday, so there wasn't much choice for accomodation for a relatively reasonable price (€73/night here, everywhere else was over €150/night). The rooms are really basic, with simple beds and no aircon. Since our room was located with window facing road with traffic it was difficult to have the door open at night due to noise. Like the other reviews said, you get what you pay for. I would only book this for 2 nights max. Small bed with no TV. Staff are ok. Had trouble finding the place, no sign in front of building.

The hostal has what you need, and at the price of 30€ per night for a single room, you get what you pay for! Its clean, have heat, shower, an the staff is helpfull and always on hand.
