Have to agree with the previous reviewer. The rooms are clean but some are extremely small. I stayed in one that measured 10 x 12 at best with no AC, bed, rickety table, sink. Not even a dresser. Towel is really el cheapo. No soap or shampoo. Very very basic accomodations.

This is a very unusual place. It is run by a Japanese staff and most of the guests (at least while we were there) were Japanese. A very interesting cultural experience in Barcelona.

Have been using this Hostal for 6 years (5 times a year). Super clean, friendly, civilized, cannot praise them enough. 20 minute walk ffrom centre.
I booked a room over the phone at this Hostal, giving my credit card number as is the custom. When I arrived they told me I hadn't booked a room, that I was a liar, that they had no record of my credit card number etc. The attitude of the concierge was very threatening to say the least.
