Stayed for 4 nights in room 311. Room was good with a surprisingly large "matrimonial" bed. Very clean and had everything we needed. Bonus that there is no charge for the safe and you can keep a few bits cool in the minibar fridge for free. Reception staff are very helpful - speak good English and were tolerant of our... More

We stayed at the Melia after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We arrived very late and the receptionist was very nice upon our arrival. The room was a very good size as was the bathroom, tastefully decorated and very comfortable in all respects. Tea & coffee making facilities were appreciated as was the wifi... More

December 2011 - I stayed here with my partner to photograph Girona (which is such a beautiful, colourful, safe place). She and I were both delighted with the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. It's close to the train station so gets a lot of use from business travellers, but we really felt 'at home' here. We asked for some... More

I stayed again at the Melia Girona after 1 year 8 months and I may say that if I thought that all about this hotel is excellent, now it is even better. Improving on excellence happens only when there is an ongoing effort from all involved to keep up the good work over the years and improving on it. Excellent... More

We spent 3 nights at the Melia Girona en route from France to Málaga. The hotel seemed organised for business visitors but as it was the end of August the hotel was quiet and very good value for the facilities. The staff were very helpful and tolerant of my Spanish (not always the case in Catalonia). The free wifi was... More

Excellent room providing a nice stay, complemented with a wide choice for breakfast. Unfortunately it’s far from city centre but a walk could be interesting as the way is plan. More

Where to start - staff spoke OK English, good enough to communicate with anyway. We were placed in room 315 the room was a mistake: the air conditioning didn't work properly and we were boiling in the room. The walls were dirty (yellow colour with a lot of dark, nearly black dirt on it), shower didn't work properly (the water... More

We stayed here for three nights. The location is fine. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the old town which might be a bit far from some, but its right beside El Corte Ingles and near the bus station and shops. The room was very nicely decorated and the beds were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept... More

Apart from the restaurant, which was very good, the hotel was not exceptional, and was in a poor location, except if your trip to girona involves only shopping at el corte ingles. The rooms were not that modern and floor 5 reeks of smoke. I would happily go for lunch or dinner, but not to stay overnight. More

We booked this Hotel via an internet site. I called in advance and was advised that Girona was but a bus journey away. It was, and this proved to be the only problem. The hotel itself is that of business nature. However, it provided pleasant surprises in that the staff were very friendly, insightful and knowledgeable. We were not in... More
