So friendly, a great change from impersonal hotels. Any questions and the owners are always there or nearby to answer and help. Room 201 has a fabulous view of the cathedral. The breakfast is great and served at your table, great fresh bread and eggs provided fresh from the family's chickens, freshly cooked and served in the style of your... More

Highly recommend this welcoming B&B, lovely people and great value. Ask for a room at the back overlooking the cathedral. And for the parking discount! They also have excellent advice for day trips to the nearby 'Rias' - beautiful coastal drives.

I spent three nights in this exceptionally warm, hospitable pension, furnished with love and care. Located next to the beautiful Alameida offers uncomparable views of the historical city with the cathedral on one side and the beautiful, extensive park on the other side. Carefully renovated and decorated with both taste and care, feels like home. The owners gave me a... More

Good value for money. I stayed in a single room and it was very comfortable. It is close to the cathedral and a very easy walk to the bus stop to the airport. They offer a very nice breakfast and gently offered more juice or food. The owners are lovely, very helpful and they keep everything clean. The only issue... More

While traveling all over Europe, this was one of the best places we've stayed in. It's really worth the money! A lovely, cute and cozy room with all the luxuries needed (great soft towels!! And the rooms at the back have a great view of the cathedral), a wonderful breakfast (free range eggs, fresh bread, great coffee) and exceptional service... More

We stayed here for 7nights in room #201. The room was furnished with stylish and comfy antic pieces and despite its relatively small size (11,5 m2) we had everything we needed. Beside the double bed and a desk with a chair, the family - the owners - transformed the old fireplace into a small museum of antic lamps. The wash... More

I stopped in Santiago as part of a 14 day motorbike tour from England to Jerez passing through Cantabria, Galicia and Portugal. I can honestly say this was the best place I stayed during the trip, for a few reasons: 1) the girls running the place are amazing, very friendly (but not intrusive) and always willing to help, they recommended... I stayed in hostel alfonso for 2 nights.it is centrally located. With this comes a little traffic noise. It is family run and they take time with their guests. It is spotlessly clean. there are lovely touches such as fresh flowers in reception. Well worth a visit

The owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The bedrooms are small, but stylishly furnished, and spotlessly clean. Bear in mind you don't spend much time in the room anyway. Tasteful ornaments can be seen throughout the building, and there was always a lovely perfumed smell everywhere. Breakfast is mainly continental - croissants, cakes, toast,... More

Having chosen Hostal Alfonso from previous reviews, we were not disappointed ! We had wished for something really nice and homely yet not too pricey after completing our Way of Saint-James and we found it. The room was really, really beautiful, with a splendid view of the Cathedral. After our way, it was a real treat ! Location was perfect:... More
