We stayed at Hotel Rex with our 9 month old daughter for 5 nights. The service was impeccable. I truly recommend it for short trips in Madrid. Very central, walking distance to every landmark. Slight disadvantage cos there is no lift in entrance and u have to go down a flight of steps for reception.

We stayed in 912, a twin on the 9th floor. Quite quirky, the bathroom was an interesting shape however everything worked and it was quiet. Hotel Rex has excellent location: Near to Gran Via, City Center and shopping areas. Callao metro station is just in 1 minutes of walking. Normal service and comfort. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Negative: Rooms facing the main road are very noisy. No elevators at the reception level.
