Wow such a fantastic location and place to stay. After such a bad start to the holiday (due to ryanair flight being delayed for 2 hours). Hotel is in a prefect location and has amazing views of the town. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. Would highly recommand this hotel to anyone visiting Sissi.

The first thing to say is that Matera is magic. Once in a life time, you should experience sunset over i sassi di Matera. Locanda di San Martino is a part of the sassi district and you're living in style in the old cave dwellings. It's beautifully done, and the pool and spa underneath the hotel is simply stunning. this was the best place of our vacation in the trip to puglia. the hotel is very well located in the sassi (the ancient district of matera). the rooms are in the caves, very well furnished clean and beautiful. the terma is great ! a hot swiming pool in the caves, wet and dry sauna and jacuzzi. you get bathrobe... Wonderful architecture in the sassi of Matera, well placed with excellent view of the sassi. The rooms are spacious and nice, but breakfast is basic nd the thaerme are not very spacious but good. The only bothering thing is that the level of cloron in the swimming pool is too high causing alergical reactions.

The property is unique. The thermae services are the attraction with extra cost but are adult only. We stayed one night. Breakfast was very nice, the food was fresh. The family room was comfortable but the beds were typical of Italian accommodations (small and hard). Parking is an extra cost as well.

We stayed 1 night in November and everything about this hotel and Matera was simply wonderful. The staff were welcoming and helpful especially when it came to parking the car which for $15 was a bargain! We stayed in room 23, a unique room with an amazing view of the Sassi, was stylishly furnished, comfortable and most of all very... More

We stayed there for 2 nights (rm 12 best view) and loved it..the staff, especially Angela, was so helpful from taking out bags up to the room, to recommending what to do. The thermal bath and spa was a gift...a wonderful way to end the day..the pool extends thru caves, perfect temp, the steam room and sauna was also great... More

One of the big advantages of this hotel over others is that you can drive right to the door with your bags via a route that even and average map-reader can follow. Further if you don't feel like looking around for a parking spot yourself, they have a valet service that will take your car away and return it on... More

Our room was in the courtyard (#34) up a flight of stairs with no neighbours to bother us and it was so quiet, peaceful and pleasant. We had a good sleep, the room was inviting, spacious and the A/C worked very well for the room size and could be regulated easily. The bathroom was simply gorgeous. I wasn't sure what... More

This hotel is right in the heart of the Sassi District - not easy to find, but charming with great atmosphere. Although there is an elevator, there are still stairs to climb to some of the rooms and the elevator wasn't working on the day we checked out. We travel light, so it wasn't a concern for us, but those... More
