Stayed here 4 nights recently. Top is only the location, about 15 minutes walking distance to the Vatican walls, 3 minutes by bus if the number 46 bus ever comes. Spartanic rooms, we felt that in those 4 nights about 7588 Steve-McQueen-style motorcycle drivers must have been driving thru our room. Breakfast not much choice except some cappucino and ever... This place is terrible, it's a total rip off. The rooms look like they are cells for monks or nuns. The light had a cheap plastic fitting and the flex was tied up in a big knot. The beds were 2 narrow singles with the springs poking through. The tiny bath/shower was cracked and the loo flushed on and on... More

OK!! Lets start with the pro s.... Cheap hotel. Clean enough Friendly staff. Checkout time is 10 but had my flight @ 4pm so requested them to keep our baggages and they happily obliged. So, thanks!!!! Metro station (Valle Aurelia) close enough but not too close. And now for the cons. Concierge service ends @ 11. Thats unreasonable. If your... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and the place nice residential area which is a stone throw away from the Vatican walls. I am very pleased with their pricing as they wont rip you off. It is very good when you are in a budget and visiting rome :-) few steps away from the bus stops and 5 mins walk... More

Domus Aurelia is the best for cleanliness, budget price , extremely helpful staff and lovely surroundings. The capuccino and cornetto served every morning was delicious. We looked forward to starting our day with our breakfast. This place is economical and well organized. If you are looking for a no frills place this is the hotel to stay at. Plus, it's... More

This hotel is in an excellent location in Vatican City, across the street from the major bus stop. You WILL NEED to ask for a fan even in early October. There is no air-conditioning. The rooms are sparse, but hey, you are not in Rome to stay in a room are you?

We spent 3 days in Rome at this very nice place. You may say it is only 2 stars: but the other 3 are usually because it has a TV, a swimming pool, a spa, a gym and all tose things you never use anyway. This Hotel is located is a quiet and safe residential area. You can take a... More

Staff very friendly. Omwned by a religeous order and frequented by seminarians and religeous groups. Front rooms very noisy and they are the only ones with air conditioning. If you are on a budget this is the place.

My husband and I stayed at this Hotel in summer 2007. It was across the road from a busstop so access to the centre of Rome was easy. Two doors down was a shop to buy bus tickets, stamps and snacks. We ate at a discounted Hotel next door, and one nighttook a bus three stops down the road to... More
