We stayed at Casa San Giuseppe for 4 days in late November...three families with teens and pre-teens. Fantastic location for walking everywhere...Vatican in 20 minutes, Roman ruins in 15 minutes. Campo da Fiori in 10 minutes, great restaurants and bars everywhere. And the staff are very friendly and helpful. But the management still haven't fixed the two minor details the... More

Casa San Giuseppe is in a great location and is astoundingly quiet for being in a neighborhood that can be overrun with rowdy students on weekends (ask for a room facing the parking lot, which actually has a good view). You should, however, know what to expect. The building and rooms are fine, clean, not cramped, and the showers work... More

I stayed at Casa San Giuseppe with my school group so we required a central location, good breakfasts and sound bedding. This hotel was just that! The rooms were huge and spacious with large bathrooms and wardrobes. The beds were hard but gave you a good nights rest. The windows were large and looked onto the back-streets of Rome, good... More

Our stay here was not really planned, but it turned out great. On our way into Rome, from Assisi, we discovered that our B&B reservation had not been confirmed, so we had to scramble to find a hotel. We knew we wanted to still stay in the Trastevere neighborhood, so we turned to our ever-handy Rick Steves', made a phone... More

The hotel is very clean and the staff is cordial enough, although for the most part I wouldn't call them especially friendly. I chose this hotel for its location — in Trastevere, within walking distance of the main historic center of Rome, and reachable by public transport (bus 23 from Piazza Risorgimento) — and for its reasonable price. Here are... More

The hotel is clean, the rooms are simple, and breakfast is average and it could be improved. We got a family room (double bed, single bed and a cot) that was very large and so was the bathroom, but the single bed was very uncomfortable and the shower was too small. In general we were satisfied and in top of... More

I stayed for five nights in mid October. I made my reservations directly online and the hotel responded immediately to my inquiry. I had room 212 which was small, but quiet with a clean bathroom and facing a courtyard. The room key is a large skeleton key on a fob that weighs about a pound and is very difficult to... More

This hotel is well placed for evening meal/drinks in the evening without having to walk far, a bonus after walking miles all day seeing the sights! Our room was large with wardrobe, drawer space and comfy large bed! The bathroom was also huge but with tiny shower in the corner - odd! Like other reviews we had terrible problems with... More

I stayed one night in a single room, 212, which was very small. The key to the room was ridiculously difficult to use, giving me the constant feeling that I would be locked out or locked in, which I often was for a few minutes while I struggled to hold and turn the key just right to get it to... We recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in a quad with our daughter and son-in-law. Two of the beds were fold aways and not particularly comfortable. One bed stuck out far into the room, obstructing access to the bathroom, and we had to be very cautious going to the bathroom at night. There was plenty of street noise... More
