Hidden down a short alleyway but just off the Tiber and a busy intersection where buses and cabs are available, Hotel la Rovere is in an excellent position so you can enjoy much of Rome, and much of it on foot. Rooms are European small, but you won't spend much time in the room anyway with so much to see.... More

We loved this little gem. Third floor room has a terrace. Plenty of room for a family of 3 as we explored Roma. It's accessible to everything. My partner loves jogging in the morning...and was thrilled to walk out the door and run for miles along the Tiber river. AND the staff went the extra mile in returning an item... More

This is a gem. Everything was done well, the room sizes, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms roomy and CLEAN. This hotel has character and charm. I loved our room with a balcony and the alley street it was on. We felt right at home and loved the location. We walked everywhere. I would recommend this as a wonderful place... More

We stayed at the Hotel La Rovere for 6 nights in late October. It was fantastic! The location is a short walk to the Vatican and a quick walk over the Tiber River to all the other sites in Rome. We walked to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, ...etc. The hotel is family owned and we felt like part of... More

We stayed here for a week in mid October before flying home. Georgia, Luigi and Raphaelo were very accommodating and helpful in every way as were all of their staff. It was great to find a QUIET, clean hotel strategically located (between Vatican City and the Trestevere district) with reasonable rates. On our last night, from the balcony on the... More

We go here every time we stay in Rome. It is one of the very few family-owned hotels left and has a cozy feeling. Giorgia and Luigi, the owners, along with their uncle, Lelo, really make you feel like part of the family. Also, a big plus, they are great with babies. Twice, at breakfast time, "Uncle Lelo" (we adopted... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in September, our tour ended here on our first night in Rome and the Hotel graciously extended our stay with some easy preplanning a few months beforehand. Quiet and a bit off the beaten path but very well situated to be within walking distance of the Vatican, La Travestere... More

I knew absolutely nothing about his hotel when it was booked for us by locals during a business trip. It was a very pleasant surprise. The hotel, dating back to the 1950s, has been lovingingly maintained as a family business. Our room, a triple, was big by European standards and we had a private terrace which was an unexpected bonus.... More

I have stayed at this hotel twice - once when my daughter was studying at John Cabot and again with my husband and daughter. If you know Rome, this is the hotel for you. It is near the Vatican and everything else is a walk away. The wonderful neighborhood of Trestevare is nearby and right behind the hotel and up... More

I stayed at La Rovere in December 2007 with a couple of colleagues. We had a nice stay. The furnishings in the rooms are a bit worn, but we didn’t mind that since everything was clean. The bathroom was spacious which you can not see that often in Italy! When we came our room was cold – they forgot to... More
