8 of us travelled to Rome for a long weekend family break. Over the years we have stayed at The Castello several times, attracted by the hotel charm, amenities and the fact that it’s only a short distance from the airport. The hotel is located outside of the center of Rome; ideally a car is preferable for getting around. However... More

Castelluccia Castle is like a fairy tale casle, located in a residential area, 20 minutes away from the center of Rome (with Metropolitano train). The castle has a magical and romantic atmosphere, and is the perfect place for romance, honeymoon or a perfect wedding. Everything is from the tenth century, food is delicious, the SPA and masagges are magnificent. They also... More

Room was a good price, however everything else was price too high - if you plan on eating at the restaurant - take advantage of their meal plan, you'll be surprised how much it will save you (especially if you plan on 3 courses) . I gatta say though the place is pretty cool. It was empty when we were... More

We were on a road trip though Italy with 4 other couples. One of the couples booked this hotel. I've stayed in central Rome on several occasions and we were just staying one night so this seemed like a great option. I've also stayed in restored castles before and have to say this one was beautifully restored and full of... More

Staff is snotty and unfriendly. They actually seem miserable to be there. There was a wedding when we arrived so it was quite confusing. The food was excellent though. The staff needs some hospitality training. Out of 2 weeks of hotels this was by far the most unfriendly! Room service says to put out card before 2am. We placed the... More

We friendly accept this complaint, considering the hardest comment as a good occasion to improve ourselves, either if the above one is probably the only one really hard in ten years, while we receive a lot of congratulations, and nobody had said our staff is snotty and unfriendly. We do know that our guests who are booking a stay in... More

We stayed here two nights on our 4 week honeymoon. First of all, if you are ok with staying far from the city centre, this is a value for money place to stay. The castle is on first sight beautiful and very romantic. But there is no personality to the place, there is simply lack of charm. There were details... More

It's a few months since our visit to Castello della Castelluccia but I felt as I rely so heavily upon Tripadvisor reviews when booking holidays, it wasn't fair to not write this. My partner and I were so excited about our 5-day trip having read all the great reviews and seen all the beautiful photos but when we arrived, we... More

My daughter and I just returned from our 2 week trip to Europe. Rome was our first stop and loved this hotel the best! The castle was amazing and the staff went out of their way to help us whenever we needed it. I hadn't used the train systems before and once I figured it out it was very easy... More

It was our last night in Italy after a glorious 5 weeks spent mostly in Tuscany. We were looking for a special hotel within an hour of Fiumicino Airport. Castello della Castelluccia fit the bill. It was recommended by the Michelin Red Guide which gave it 3 rouge maisons. Just the type of Michelin rating we love to stay in.... More

My husband and I got married in the Irish College in central Rome in March 2009. We wanted to stay in a hotel that would match the grandeur of the wedding, and the Castello della Castelluccia was no diasappointment! 13 of us in the wedding party stayed in beautifully furnished bedrooms (as the married couple we were upgraded to a...
