Firstly the hotel is in a good location 5 mins walk from Termini station, walking distance to main attractions such as Piazza Venezia and Trevi fountain took us about 25 mins to there. This hotel is really really old and needs ALOT of work done to it, our room was tiny and really dark and our view was of a really... More

Booked in as close to station and sites. Cost only £30 per night and for that price had no problem. Room was bit dusty and needed cosmetic repairs but felt safe and had no problems. Walking distance to central rail and convienient for sightseeing. think this was one of the hotels that charged extra to turn on aircon lol More

Budget travel was the essence of this extended summer trip, and Rome did come as a welcome change in that the size of the room was larger than what we expected to be the norm in large European touristic cities. That said, there was nothing else worth mentioning other than the fact that the hotel was very close to Termini... More

Just the day before we went to Rome I checked some of the reviews on Tripadvisor and I was quite worried. But it turned out, the hotel is not as bad as I thought. The room and the bathroom were okayish, bit dusty and we had to clean the wooden surfaces on the bedside tables. The business tactic of this... More

I read the other reviews on this site just after getting back from the travel agent having booked a twin room in this hotel. I was horrified but was unable to change my very short notice booking without incurring major charges. When we arrived at the hotel, the gentleman on reception was very welcoming and polite (as were all the... More

Just after paying, we found that our room was not acceptable. The main concerns that we had were: the shower had an abundance of black mold, and the shower door was not even attached, but completely broken, and we deemed it unuseable. There was no safe and there was dust that set off allergies straightaway. We brought this to the... More

This hotel was awful, the pictures on the website are nothing like what we got!! We did expect it to be basic with it being a 2 star, but this was a joke. The bathroom was horrible, I don't know how old the shower curtain was, it was disgusting, we also had some unwelcome guests in the bathroom (ants) Filthy... More

Well this Hotel was such a disappointment! Do not be fooled by the nice hotel pictures, because it is nothing like that. The Room was filthy and dusty and the Bathroom was just Vomit! We went during the HOT Summer, and needed to Shower like every hour or so, but I had to really restrain myself from showering because the... More

We have just returned from a short trip to Rome, staying at the Altavilla hotel. Myself and two friends, 3 ladies in 50-60 age range arrived in anticipation of a cultural, educational and enlightening visit. The Altavilla was in a superb position for sightseeing, near to the Termini. The staff on reception were friendly enough, but the lift was out... More
