By modern standards, this is a hostel, NOT a hotel. Groups of teenage kids were coming and going at 3,4,5 am, slamming doors, yelling, dropping bottles in the stairwell, etc. The hotel seems to be situated on a drag strip, as all night long motorcycles kept racing past while we were trying to sleep. I had to sleep with earplugs.... More

Booked as part of a "stay" before a cruise package we wanted something central to maximise our short stay in Rome before going on a cruise. The hotel is definitely unassuming from the outside but is clean and welcoming inside. Unfortunately our room was on the second - top floor, and with no lifts in the building we found it... More

We have just come back from a few days stay at The Espana Hotel, we enjoyed our stay there. We got a very good deal to stay here so we were not expecting it to be an amazing 'wow' experience, we just wanted somewhere comfortable, clean and somewhere to sleep and eat some breakfast in the morning which is what... Good location - only 15min to main railway station, next 20min. to Coloseum. Only problem - the area is not the best. In the night not the best place for a walk. Stuff nice and helpfully. Breakfast nothing special. Rolls, toasts two kind of cheese and hum, something sweet and cornflakes with milk. Coffee - my god - the worst... More

In the morning we were woke up with construction works in the street , after 3 days of stay we could celebrate brand new asphalt carpet in this quiet area. Breakfast is basic, but for italian conditions pretty ok; ham, cheese, jams, but cream, toast, brioche, orange/grapefruit juice (drink I would say). Morning coffee we were drinking in the closest... The hotel is in the 'Termini' area which alot would say is probably not the nicest of areas. We had booked this hotel due to it being close to the Termini station and were only there for 2 nights. One of the very first hotels that I have found to have a spacious shower cubicle. Everything neat and tidy but... More

Spent five nights here until august 25th in a room on the second floor with twin beds. I will just mention the pros and cons for your evaluation: Pros - 5 min walk from underground station (metro line A) and tram lines - 8 min walk to San Giovanni Laterano, which is the most beautiful church I've ever seen -... We stayed here so we could be close to the train station to catch the early train to Naples. Next time, I think we will just stay somewhere else because it is not that close to the station and we had to walk through some pretty shady areas of town. It is not close to any sights. The actual hotel... More

My husband and I were a bit nervous about the hotel after reading the reviews, but I am glad that we decided to stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly, especially those that worked in the breakfast room. The ladies made sure that every time we came down to breakfast there were enough pastries--delicious chocolaty ones! The pictures don't... More
