We were originally booked to stay at the Matisse Nationale and were skeptical initially when Roberto asked if we wanted to switch to the Matisse Colosseum however we are quite pleased we did. The location was incredible and we were literally minutes from the Colosseum!! Our window was into an alley that got was noisy at times however the windows... More

Matisse Colesseum is perfectly placed to all the major sights as the name suggests! The Colesseum literally not even ten minutes walk away and every other point of interest a good 10-15 walk away from each other and for this reason alone it's worth it!! On arrival we were greeted by Roberto who showed us around and marked out the... More

We've been reallocated here from Matisse Nazionale when we arrived there, but we were quite positive about that since the place has even better location. it is 5 min walk from Colloseum. 7-10 min walk from Piazza Venezia - and from there you can easily get to major tourist destinations like Trevi Fountain, Pantheon etc in like 10-20 minutes. Place... More

Matisse Coloseum is a really great place if you're looking for an hotel or bed & breakfast in the middle of Rome. It's not to luxurious but who needs that anyway when you're all day walking in the city. For instance: the Coloseum and the Forum are just around the corner. Roberto was really nice to us, we could even... More

This was my 5th stay at Matisse. Why it plunges you into the atmosphere and flavour of Rome. The accommodation adds to the atmosphere clean, safe, and spacious, within walking distance to Rome’s great monuments like the Colosseum. You will find your self surrounded by Rome’s ancient history. You’re located in the centre of Rome and just a stones throw... More

Best location imaginable! We walked everywhere except TO the Vatican (it was raining and we walked home) and Roberto called us a taxi, and even ran out and bought us umbrellas! When we first arrived I had read about a few restaurants and Roberto called and made us reservations, as well as suggested some good pizza and gelati in the... More

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! We arrived the evening of October 31, 2009 to Matisse Colosseum B&B. When we rang the doorbell, no one answered for thirty minutes. When someone finally answered the door they told us that they had no room available. We showed them our reservations (we already paid the deposit which we are presently trying to get... More
