We have just returned from a long weekend in Rome and I felt compelled in the light of some of the recent scathing reviews of the St George to write one based on our own experience of staying there, particularly as we got a little concerned when we saw those bad reviews just before we set off for Rome. The... More

Great hotel across the river from the Vatican. This is a small boutique hotel that is really works to take care of there clients. We loved our stay, had a great room that was very quiet and very clean. The room was ready on time and the staff was incredible about trying to help with every question or request. Yes... More

Having read the reviews and just having been there, I am amazed that the hotel has not made any effort in improving the negative reports. It is ridiculously overheated and impossible to sleep at night with the windows open, the lack of working wifi/computer space ( everyone had to sit in the lobby)is cause for concern. However, the front desk... More

Dear JackoSharon Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to write to us regarding your recent stay at the St.George Hotel. I would like to apologize for the unfortunate lack of sleep that you experienced in our hotel due to the powerful heating system. Unfortunately, the two pipe system the hotel is equipped with does not allow... More

We were booked for 4 nights , left after just one. Internet was crawl speed & would put most systems in the developing world to shame. No wireless Internet in the rooms, only Ethernet. Turns out the much vaunted Air Conditioning controls in each room are actually a joke - the hotel switches off the system when it deems temperatures... More

Dear Sheldon58 Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write to us regarding your stay at the St.George Hotel, Although we note that in general you were not happy with the room and our Air Conditioning system. I do apologize. Usually from October the air conditioning is turned off to switch on the heating, but these last days... More

The St. George was a terrific place to spent our first 3 nights of our 2 week Italy vacation. The staff is very efficient and were very helpful giving directions and restaurant recommendations. The location is excellent as the hotel is on a very private and exclusive street- Via Guilia. It is only about a 10 minute walk to Piazza... More

No gym. Cold indifferent front desk staff. NO wireless Internet in room available. In room movies 15 eur.Roomservice menu starts at 30 eur for soup. Bad housekeeping. Beds are terrible. No irons available. Only good thing was breakfast that's included and sauna area- but not worth the 5 star prices (476us plus txes) we paid. Stay at Eden or majestic.... More

Have just returned from a 4 day break in Rome and the Hotel was perfect. My wife and I are not physically fit, but even for us we could get to the Vatican in 20 mins. We could also walk to the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain although we chose to get a taxi to the Galleria Borghese and the... More

We stayed at the St. George for 3 nights, this was a third trip to Rome. We found the accomodations to be superb! The hotel was spotless and the decor appeared to be modern and fresh. The staff was top-notch. The front desk provided superior service and the server at breakfast was excellent. She remembered us, our room number and... More

We had a very disappointing stay here. The bad points: The website is very misleading, the "free gift" with the delux rooms is 1 bottle of water, the receptionist Jonathan laughed at me when I asked about this, he said its probably "a bit of miss advertising" , but probably best not to laugh at guests. There is no wifi... More

We recently stayed 3 nights at the St. George. The hotel is in a fabulous location - about 10 minutes from the Vatican or Piazza Navona, 5 minutes from Camp de'Fiori and walking distance to ancient Rome, Spanish Steps, etc. It's a lovely boutique hotel with complimentary gym, sauna and steam room facilities - which is a great perk! However,... More
