This is the sort of place you would selfishly like to keep secret. It encapsulates all the possible charm of a beautifully restored and maintained chateau set in the lush Normandy countryside, complete with vistas of horses frolicking in adjacent tree lined paddocks. Such is the tranquility and beauty that it takes only moments to feel very, very relaxed. We... More

You expect always a little bit of a feeling of dislocation (unless of course you already live in a château!) as well as a degree of self-consciousness when landing in a place of past splendour and grandeur but not the case here, thanks to a really cozy feeling that permeates once you step inside. It's more "bon chic bon genre"... More

We stayed the night at the Chateau de Saint Maclou la Campagne in August for 1 night on route from Cognac to Calais. The drive up to the chateau is breathtaking. The owner wasn't in residence but his house-keeper greeted us along with another couple and showed us to our room. The owner generously upgraded us to a room on... More

We stayed here for a night at the end of June en - route back home. Despite arriving when it was pouring down we were still impressed by the beautiful parkland and gorgeous house appearing through the trees. We were welcomed in the lovely interior and shown up to the fab room with delightful views across the parkland. We asked... More

We spent two nights in a nicely refurbished room on the top floor featuring an elegant mix of antique and modern elements. Breakfast was rich and tasty and was served in a bright room with a large historic fireplace. The host Mr. Gage was very friendly and helpful. We can recommend this chateau to everyone who wants to stay in... More

We spent 4 nights at this chateau in July 2011 and felt very welcome. The first 3 nights we were the only guests and felt like royalty having it all to ourselves. The chateau is located very near to the main sigths in Normandy, and a great place to stay, if you want to explore Normandy. The owner was friendly... More

Absolutely wonderful! It is everything you could ask for in a french chateau. Beautifully decorated, the grounds are gorgeous, comfortable rooms, updated bathrooms. Robin was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Good location if you want to visit the D-Day beaches and Honfleur.
