We stayed at the mini-suite facing the grand canal. The room was very large and beautiful, and the views of the canal are amazing. Breakfast is very good. We arrived from the airport by water-taxi, which is the only way to directly reach the hotel without having to climb over at least one bridge (a lot of steps). The hotel... more

Our room overlooked the canal which was a constant source of entertainment. Room was decent size with high ceilings. Shower was a little tight, if you are over 6 foot or a wide body you may not fit at least in our shower, maybe other rooms have different set ups . A little surprised that the tv was not a... more

This was our first ever trip to Venice, and our first trip to Italy. We arrived at the Marco Polo airport to be greeted with a rather violent rain storm !! Got the boat taxi to the hotel which was a novelty and we arrived at the hotel about 30 minutes later. The hotel was luxurioulsy decorated in Italian style... more

We loved our stay at the Locanda Vivaldi. We arrived after a long international flight to our lovely, quiet rooms which looked out over San Mark's basin. We slept wonderfully and were able to recover from jet lag in our very comfortable rooms with very nice bathrooms, and a nice view of the lagoon. The staff was excellent, very helpful.... more

We arrived jet lagged, luggage free and tired. Check in was effortless, personal care items were offered, condolences expressed and directions provided. Room was clean and quiet with a view of the rear courtyard/garden. Breakfast was wonderful and allowed us to explore until well into the afternoon before a reload was needed. When we asked about a trip to the... more

We arrived very late at night and the staff were expecting us. The staff were very helpful, pointing out locations on the map, offering suggestions, Stephano and Titti were both spot on with suggestions. We loved the breakfast nook. Very cute and just the right mix of fruit, breads, and standard fare. If your room (like our's) is facing the... more

Our favorite hotel of three on our recent trip to Italy. Beautiful, historic, spotless, wonderful location, an expert concierge. The bedrooms were a little baroque in their color selection but the beds were perfect, sheets crisp, windows open wide, the bathroom was spacious and beautiful, with good hot water pressure. Rooftop garden on the grand canal, three bridges from the... more

We booked at the last minute due to change of plan and needed a place in a central location, close to airport and train connections. This charming hotel exceeded our expectations. A stone's throw from St Marks and facing on the Grand Canal! Almost opposite were the Vaporetto stop and AliLaguna transport to the airport. Hotel itself was lovely. Small,... more

This was our second trip to Venice. We decided to splurge and stay at this hotel for our second visit too. Staff is efficient, although a little aloof. Housekeeping had trouble on our second day and did not make up the room until after 4 pm. However, you cannot beat the location as it is next door to Santa Maria... more

Dear Friend, I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay, even if you had a trouble with the cleaning of the room the second day of your stay. I'm very sorry for the happening, please accept my apologise. I don't have the same opinion of you concerning the eggs. We ususlly prepare the scramble eggs with the butter, as this is...

Location: close to all main tourist attractions in Venice, few minutes to St Marco Square, overlooks one of main walking paths - Riva Degli Schiavoni. Also close to water transport stops - makes travel around Venice and lagoon (Murano, Burano, Lido and others) easy. Good public water transport from railway station and airport for those who want to save on... more
