This was worth the money. Our room was very clean, it was great. The staff was very nice. 😊 The location was pretty hard to find but we were first timers here in Venice, so the streets were a bit weird for us.. 😄 We visited in November, the room was pretty cold at night, you should bring some extra clothes for night. We recommend this place! 🫶🏼

I and my partner stayed there for 4 days. It is a nice place: comfortable, very clean, quiet, the staff is very friendly and the location is really good (close to cafeterias, restaurants and the tourist places). Very recommendable.

Not hard to find with the help of goggle map. Place was clean and tidy and the reception provided some tips on getting the local transport after check in. Not far from train and bus station... around 10 minutes walk. As the buildings were very unique and not high (or more to local type of building), there was no lift provided. So have to remember this. Breakfast staff was also friendly and served us our coffee right to our table..... 👍

I reached Venice literally in a trouble water period. Luckly or unluckly I arrived in Venice during the high tide peak in mid-November. Actually, I booked a room for one single night at the Al Malcanton hotel. I was in Rome for a week and took a chance to go to Venice for a two-day round trip. When I got in Venice Santa Lucia train station, everything looked to be working as usual, except for the long footbridges built for the walkers. Al Malcanton is really close to the station but walking on the side of the channel was challenging. The narrow streets were completely flooded, and after buying a pair of cheap plastic boots that melted in five steps, my feet got completely wet. When I arrived at Al Malcanton place, the hotel was not accepting patrons for obvious reasons, but what my happiness when the front desk lady said that they had booked a room for me and my wife at the Locanda Gaffaro, which is located upstairs from Al Malcanton. What a bless taking a hot shower after walking in the cold water! What a charming property, located in a historic district. I spent the whole night at the bed, since I was not motivated to get outside in that night, but it was worthy. The other day started shiny, and I was quite impressed with the service of Locando Gaffaro. I will return soon to Venice hopefully during summer.

We were very lucky to happen upon Locanda Gaffaro via Booking.com. It is handy for Piazzale Roma, so we didn’t have to take our cases very far. It is a very comfortable place, with good furnishings, helpful staff and a nice breakfast. Excellent croissants! We got useful guidance on what to do to make the most of our stay, including the recommendation to eat in Campo Santa Margherita, where there is lots of character and tourists mingle with the locals.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel for 3 nights. It was the fastest check in and check out we have even done for a long time, very pleased! The person at the reception was very helpful and also was his colleague. We arrived earlier than check in time but they allowed us to leave our bags and also to use the room for a quick change of clothes. The room was clean and spacious enough for two of us. Bathroom was sparkling!! Breakfast is basic which didn’t bother us at all. The lady serving breakfast was very kind and helpful. On the day of check out we were allowed to leave our luggage for later without any hesitancy. The price for 3 nights was reasonable during peak August month. It is located in a quite area and you can get a very goodnight sleep. If I go back to Venice, I would definitely stay at this place again!

I chose this place because of its proximity to the train and bus stations. It’s about a 10 minute walk and that’s with luggage. You will have to cross a small bridge just before you get to the bus station, but that’s Venice for you. Check in time isn’t until 1 pm but if you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage at their sister hotel next door which is where you check in (hotel al malcanton). This is also where they serve breakfast in the morning. It can be a bit difficult to find at first but use maps.me app and you’ll be fine. It’s quiet at this place, which is nice, but you are near several restaurants, supermarkets, etc. staff is friendly and helpful. If you arrive outside of office hours, they will leave instructions on how to get your room key., Room itself had good WiFi, nice clean bathroom, and good A/C. It also had a room safe but it wasn’t anchored to anything so someone could have easily removed it from the room. So be aware of that. Also, most of the rooms are on the second floor with no elevator. So you will be hiking your stuff up a serious staircase. Overall, I liked this place. It’s great for an overnight stay if heading out on a flight, cruise, or train. I wouldn’t use this to see San Marco or Rialto bridge. It’s a good 20 minute hike from the hotel.

We really liked the accommodation at Locanda Gaffaro in Venice's Dorsoduro district, the quiet location just around the corner is a lot of places to find decent money. The room was not big, but in Venice it is probably a normal size. Breakfast sufficient. 👍🏻

Small room on the top floor without real window, as it's was under the roof it was almost impossible to stand in the toilet as the roof was too low. as the picture, you can see that the sonorisation of the room is not existing and the security with a key which look like not a key will close your room (ok i checked and not everyrooms are like this), you will eat the breakfast at the next-door hotel, inside and in the hallway, the breakfast could really be with more choice, and table for 4 could be something else than a table for 2 with a wood board on top not even fixed. after leaving breakfast they don't remove table cover, they just remove dust and pieces of bread... you need to do with previous coffee marks and so on... I can not really recommand this hotel except for the location.
