This charming B&B, off a garden piazza in the La Kalsa District, is just recently renovated. They are still trying to establish a name for themselves, and the decoration and general service are both very good. As we came in the low season, they also made us a good deal on the room. The room was new, well appointed, and... More

Great location in a quiet side street in Kalsa, which is close to the sea, and ideal for walking around the city centre. Very modern, freshly renovated and designed rooms with a small balcony to the inner patio. Free parking is available at 200m distance (Via Carlo Rao). Breakfast was a disappointment though. The coffee seemed to be at least... More

We stumbled upon this B&B in a tiny alley off Via Alloro by accident. The La Kalsa district is ideal for exploring old Palermo on foot and the B&B itself is just a 10min walk from the (bus) station. The charming owner Donatella showed us around and we booked on the spot! There is a nice little courtyard giving access... More

We found this place through the Lonely Planet which described it as "charming and secluded guesthouse", which to our mind was totally misleading. The guesthouse was bland, and while the rooms had all mod cons, a good shower, tv (who needs it on holiday?) it was in no way charming, interesting, or "arty" (apart from the dreadful, poorly chosen artwork).... There were cleanliness issues. We found a cockroach near our room. Although the bathroom has brand new fixtures, there is already a build up of mildew in the shower. Also, when we returned for our second night, it seemed that the bath towels that had been used in the morning had been folded and placed on top of my dirty... More

The B&B wasn't as amazing as all the reviews made it out to be. It is nice and the breakfast is OK, but the room was damp and smelly and the amenties could do with a bit of a revamp. The reception is not staffed the hours they say it is and to get in touch with them it is... More

We made a reservation with Al Giardino dell'Alloro and stayed in a sleek, modern room that I found later was on the B&B Centro Storico Hotel website (location and contact details of the two are the same so I'm guessing it's just two different wings). The guesthouse had lots of character - nice reception area with old furniture and a... More

This small B&B was a fine location for exploring old Palermo. Rooms are new and constructed of fine materials and craftsmanship. It was over 40 C many days so the new air conditioning units were a saver for all. One of our party was in a wheelchair and Donatella and staff built a functional ramp that allowed access to office... More

One of the most hospitable places in Sicily and that's quite a lot to say since everyone in Sicily treats you like your own family. Inside the b&b there's a nice communal space with lots of plants and the most friendly cat in town. For a moment you completely forget the hecticness of the city. Rooms are very comfortable and... Pros: Room was immaculate, bed was great, and hotel was on a quiet street that was well located to walk to most sites you'd want to visit. Good security. Staff was very kind and hard working. Cons: breakfast was pitiful and owners often couldn't be found for information on how to get around town. When asked to pay in cash,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Situated in the historical centre of the city, inside the quarter of the Kalsa, just opposite Villa dell’Alloro, our bed&breakfast is different from the others. We have called it "b&b&arts": in the rooms and the communal spaces you will find paintings, photographs and sculptures of contemporary Sicilian artists. You will find not only well-furnished rooms, where every colour tones in with the idea the room expresses, but also wide communal spaces and a luminous courtyard where breakfast is served in summer and where you can spend your time chatting and relaxing. All rooms are equipped with bathroom with shower inside the room, hot-cold air-conditioning, electronic key that allows access to the whole structure, safe, LED TV, wi-fi free and many other amenities. The rooms are serviced by private elevator, and overlook a quiet courtyard, where you can spend your free time. ... more   less
