Very well located, close to Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio, this hotel has nice staff and a fair price. Great for those who want to stay close to the amazing attractions of Florence.

I was disappointed in this pensione. My single room (No 22) had a very very slim twin-sized bed; the room itself was barely twice the width of the bed, so difficult to manoeuvre around the space. I would describe the furniture in the room as shabby rather than antique. (I have visited Italy twice a year for over a decade;...

I promised myself that the next time I stayed in Florence, I would stay in the Oltrarno - and I found exactly what I was looking for in the Annalena when I stayed there for seven nights in November.
What I wanted was a small, good value hotel with the "pensione" atmosphere of yesteryear housed in an ancient building -...

Hotel Annalena is just not comfortable. There are 3 flights of stairs that you have to negotiate when you arrive without any hotel staff waiting to assist with your luggage. The beds are old, thin and uncomfortable. The wifi does not work. Also the showers are so small and poorly designed that it is nearly immpossible to use them. In...

We slept very well and had a nice view of a garden in back. Service was friendly and breakfast was good. Love their coffee. Location was excellent. Caution! Our shower was a curtain in the bathroom by the bidet. Very very very small. There is no elevator so you have to carry your bags up 3 sets of stairs. You...

my mother had suggested this hotel to her parents many years ago, but they never had the chance to go. now she suggested it to me - and i am so thankful she did! as an architect i thoroughly appreciated the elegant, even breath-taking architecture and was immediatly blown away by our room: we had booked a superior double room...

I liked the location in Oltrano, across the Boboli Garden and near Piazza Santo Spirito. The rooms have very nice antiques, the staff are friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Be prepared that the lobby is up a couple flights. The gentlemen behind the desk did bring our suitcases down for us when we were leaving. I would definitely stay...

It was my first time in Florence and I wanted budget but nice; I found this place by magic and I loved it! It is what they call 'Oltrano' which means it is on the other side of the Arno river, ie not where the sights are in the centre ie Uffizzi gallery, Accademia etc. Infact, the Annalena is opposite...

We just made our third return to Annalena after originally hearing about it here on TA. Nestled quietly on the other side of the Arno and just across from Boboli Gardens is this little gem of a hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, clean, quiet rooms and a great value - we feel like we've found a home away from home. Escape...

We stayed at Annalena in June 2011. As we had a car, we were worried about finding the hotel and parking but managed both with no problems. Annalena is in the restricted zone and there is no parking right onstite but the hotel has an arrangement with Garage Fosi around the corner so we were able to drive in to...
