My partner and I stayed four nights here and had a lovely time. The location is just a short walk from the town of San Gimignano with nice views back toward it. We loved the chance to stay in a Tuscan household that was still so close to the well preserved medieval town. We stayed in the yellow room which... More

We spent 5 weeks wandering Northern Italy mostly staying in B&B's. Locanda Viani was one of the real finds of our travels. Paola and Roberto were the loveliest hosts we found. Thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and getting to know them. The position is great in the view you get of the town and it is the perfect walking distance in... More

My husband and I stayed at the beautiful Locanda Viani as part of our honeymoon travelling around Italy and we were delighted that we chose to stay at this wonderful B&B. The location is superb; a short walk from the house to the walled city, is the perfect way to start your day and it was wonderful to escape the... More

A unique view of San Gimignano, with understated refined elegance Friendliness' family, professional care, these are the characteristics of the Locanda Viani. Plentiful breakfasts, freshly prepared each morning with cakes, biscuits and bread made from signora Paola make you feel at home. The rooms are immaculate in every detail. The owners were extremely pleasant and so helpful. Nothing was too much for them. The room was perfect with a terrace on the roof... a wonderful view and fantastic in the evenings to enjoy an aperitif or light meal. Also a very good position, within walking distance from San Gimignano. I would highly recommend a stay at Locanda Viani.

Had a wonderful two night stay at Locanda Viani in May. We were greeted by our lovely host Roberto on arrival and he showed us to our room, the lovely blue room, then up to a wonderful surprise balcony off of our room which had fantastic views all around us. Sitting on that balcony with a glass of wine, cheese... More

This was our first B&B in Italy, and wow, it was lovely! The hosts, although limited in English, tried so hard to accommodate us and be helpful. The bath was huge, the room just right and the view was magnificent! Roberto's paintings were amazing and added so much to the house. It was so easy to walk into town and... More

I loved this place. It may not be for everyone as a car is most definitely necessary. It is conveniently within nice walking distance of the town center. I appreciated being able to wake with the lovely view of town from my window, which you obviously can't enjoy if you stay in town. Locanda Viani felt very homey with comfortable... More

Stayed at Locanda Viani for three nights in Sept 2010. Roberto was a warm, charming host who greeted us every evening upon returning from our siteseeing. Paola prepared the once/week guest dinner that was fit for a Michelin star restaurant. Their son, Cesare, helped Roberto to serve dinner. English is spoken, but Italian too to help learn it.
